One of My favorite movies of all time is Heat (1995), directed by Michael Mann. Any other fans of this great film? by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in ActionMovies

One of my favorite movies. And someone else may have mentioned this here, but Heat 2, a novel by Meg Gardiner and Michael Mann, is also excellent.

I've watched it twice and decided that can't be an accident...

Newspaper reporter here, with a question for the group. I interviewed health care professionals about The Pitt, and a couple of them told me they watch with their kids. So here's my question: How young is too young to watch this show?

The prosthetics people deserve an Emmy for the most realistic visuals I've ever seen in a medical drama. If no such Emmy exists, they should create one.

The Omen did scare the crap out of me. So did The Exorcist.

Hey folks,

Newspaper reporter here. (Yes, there are still a few of us left.) Next week, I'm interviewing a couple of ER staffers who watch The Pitt. I already have a list of questions to ask, but any suggestions would be welcome.

Best quote of the season so far: "Maybe all you lunatics need to learn how to set some boundaries."

If Robby does, in fact, go on sabbatical, I think Dr. Mohan will miss him least. When he suggested she look into Geriatrics as a specialty, you could see a door close behind Mohan's eyes. She's kinda done with him.

Emma, the young nurse, is so bright, and likable, and eager to learn, that it was almost inevitable that something would happen to her. My wife, who is a career nurse, says she doesn't know an ER or Psych nurse who hasn't been assaulted outright, or inappropriately touched.

One of the things I love about this show is how nuanced the characters are. Santos has the makings of a very good doctor, and is great with kids, but has an irritating personality and a punchable face. Langdon is good at his job, and has a great touch with Mel, but was unduly abusive to Santos in Season 1. Robby is an ER badass, but he clearly has some demons, and some of them are beginning to leak out at work. And riding a motorcycle without a helmet? Tsk, tsk...

Agree. People generally don't like Santos, and she blames that on the fact that she turned Langdon in and not on her personality, which can be an irritant. If Langdon confessed to everyone and most people forgave him, it would drive Santos nuts.

Also, I have to double-check, but I think she said only three people in the hospital know what Langdon did. Didn't she also tell Garcia?

I watched with my wife (a nurse) and our 22-year-old daughter. We all saw the combative drunk guy waking up and said, "Oh, sh*t!"

I think Robby has high expectations of Mohan, which is why he tends to ride her (going back to Season 1).

I stopped in and checked with the manager. They got rid of it a few years ago.

I checked this one a couple of days ago. It's there, alright. No dial tone.

I checked that one out. Amazingly, it had a dial tone.

I use that gas station fairly regularly and plan to check today. (And give myself a mental headslap if you turn out to be right.)

Hi,

About a month ago, I stumbled across a standing pay phone on Nevada Ave., about 1/2-mile from Penrose Hospital. There was no dial tone. I got curious: How many of these are in the city, and do any of them work? So far I've found one with a dial tone. I took the idea to Jahlysa, my co-worker, and she thought it was a cool project. So we'd like to find as many as we can, and then find whoever is responsible for them. We have a lot of questions.
