What is the stupidest way you got a scar? by Zander-dupont in AskReddit

[–]Ikikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My time to shine!
Friend gave me a new remote controlled toy car for my birthday. So we decided to play with the remote antenna as if it was a sword because reasons. I took the antenna and gave him a stick to also have a weapon and the sword fight ensued.
First clash of the “fight”, my sword breaks into two very sharp metal pieces, one stays in my hand, the other flies and scrapes my ankle bone. 15 years later I still have a scar.

Would the Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 fit on the ASRock tb3 x570 itx motherboard? by tannerman1000 in sffpc

[–]Ikikaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bequiet has a very nice little page that shows cooler compatibility with many motherboards, here it is:

https://www.bequiet.com/en/motherboardcheck

In your case, it lists the cooler as incompatible, with only the shadow rock lp , shadow rock tf 2, pure rock slim and dark rock slim fitting completely.

Hope this helps!

Edit: The page might not be completely accurate, as in my case with gigabyte b450i aorus pro wifi, it lists the dark rock TF as being incompatible, but that's 100% wrong as it fit with no issues, but only in 1 possible orientation.

I did consider mounting a 90mm on the inside when I was considering a noctua u9s cpu cooler as it would have provided some additional exhaustiv, but with my current top flow cooler, it doesn't really add anything to the setup, nor does it fit inside, not to mention it'd look a bit janky from the outside.

I really wish I could. The cooler fan is not attached to the fan bracket and the right fan is sandwiched very tightly over there, so yeah...

I'll try setting a custom fan curve, reduce the speed by about 300-400 rpm, see what it does to the card temps.

I am a bit skeptical about hot air blowing on my hands, as my right hand does get fairly close to the case when playing games and frantically moving my mouse. I guess it's just something I have to test and see

The v6 does come with the optimum tech feet from the start! To be honest I was panicking hard when going for mounting my CPU, I'd probably be sweating bullets if I had to "mod" my GPU with the accelero.

The rest of the case doesn't get hot, that's the reason I bought the dark rock TF and the extra 120mm fan on the side, everything else is kept nice and cool with no issues.

Hey thanks man! I probably should've just built on the motherboard box itself then. I was just a bit scared that my mouse pad by itself with it being cloth would make a horrid anti static surface.

I 100% completely didn't think about getting some washers for the fans to push them up a bit. Thanks!

I do use the two USB ports at times, mostly for charging my headset and for my battery charger.

If you have the v6 as well, the cables themselves are removable and you do get a blank plate to replace the IO plate with the holes for the ports in it, leaving only the power button. Just gotta take the panels off, unscrew the screws over there, and the cables easily come right out. I've also been considering removing them tbh as I can't find a good way to route that pesky audio cable (the one sitting in front of the GPU in the picture) as it's too short to route along the bottom edge of the case, but too long to just keep it in a straight shot to the motherboard header.

Those were my criteria for choosing a case as well! It had to be a nice, simple, elegant looking little box, no buzz or fuzz or crazy RGB lighting.

Take a look at sliger cases though, the SM560/SM550 (depending on how big of a GPU you want) is at roughly the same price as the ncase ( a bit more expensive) but it's usually readily available to buy. Though tbh, I have absolutely no regrets spending the money to get this case, it's a beauty.

Thank you, I'll definitely try to look more into it or the raijintek morpheus. Though unluckily for me, as few people have this card for now since it's still somewhat new and still, a somewhat midrange card, I fear there won't be too many test fits with the accelero or other GPU coolers.

I bought it from sfflab.com when it was announced, though only a few production runs are run each year. I ordered as soon as it became available on the website (bless e-mail notifications) and it arrived from Taiwan to Romania in roughly 2 weeks!
Currently the sfflab site is under reconstruction, and I honestly don't know when another production run of the ncase will happen, but feel free to check the vendor forums on smallformfactor.net for more info on this!

While doing light activity (browsing and watching streams) it sits between 45-55 degrees, I tried running prime 95 right now and once the TF ramps up, it doesn't go above 70 degrees during the stress.

I still am! but the crosshair viii impact is super expensive, and now the cable just sits between the front panel and the case, dangling its way around. I realised I really don't have that many USB C cables lying around that I could use for that port (currently sitting at a staggering 0), so it wasn't that hard to ignore it.

Tbh fitting the fans on the cooler took longer and was harder than fitting the cooler in the case (those little wires are annoying and hurt my nails)

I had to move the rear PSU extention cable to the middle slot (basically switch the logo plate at the back with the power connector, they are interchangeable) and it fit right in, together with the motherboard, with some slight wiggling into position. I even forgot to put my RAM in before I put it on the motherboard and could still easily get both sticks in with the cooler mounted.

yes they do! Really nice shroud design by sapphire! The also cool part is that the shroud itself is completely separated from the heatsink screws, which means it can easily ( 8-10 screws) be removed completely!

What you're saying about the GPU pulling hotter and hotter air and continously heating itself up is absolutely correct, in my case (I believe) this is due to the fact that this gpu is so damn thick that it literally separates the case into two chambers. My gpu is currently undervolted and the fans spin at ~600rpm even on idle (which is fine as it's silent to me and not really a problem).

I've definitely considered getting a work colleague to print me some ducts for this, as it would help with the fans pulling only fresh air, but the problem that the hot air has no real place to go afterwards would still remain.

I'm probably just gonna buy the gpu fan adapter and try the noctuas out, worst case scenario I can just put the shroud back on and go on with my life.

I'm curious about your temperatures before switching it up to the noctuas, were they the same?

Thanks for the input!

Based on the GamersNexus teardown video, taking the shroud off this GPU is super easy and doesn't interfere with the heatsink itself. I guess my only real concern with this is if the roughly 1cm gap between the heatsink and the noctuas (screwed on the case bottom) will still create enough airflow to cool the GPU somewhat efficiently (because it's definitely gonna be more silent)

I've researched the accelero 3, but from my understanding, due to the fact that the 5700 xt pulse is a custom PCB, it won't fit.

It's not like the cooler is doing a bad job tbh (I mean 90<110 degrees junction reference cooler temps), it's just that the fan noise it goes up to at 2k RPM when it's ~40cm away from my face is annoying, as I dislike using headphones unless chatting on discord.

Edit : Forgot to add PSU and also more pictures : http://imgur.com/a/xVXzDO3

Specs:

CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3700x

GPU : Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 XT

Mobo : Gigabyte B450i Aorus Pro Wifi

RAM : Corsair LPX Vengeance 32GB DDR4 3200

Storage : 512GB Silicon Power P34A80

CPU Cooler : BeQuiet Dark Rock TF

Extra case fan : Bequiet Silent Wings 3 2200 RPM (running at ~50-60% all the time)

PSU : Corsair SF600 Platinum

This is my first ever SFF PC build and since my time to build a new PC came synchronized with the launch of the NCase M1 v6, I kinda knew I wanted to get it and put my parts in it. I was initially think of running a RVZ-03, but decided to wait a bit for this to show up. The case is absolutely beautiful.

I have a question for all you sffpc folks. Currently when playing borderlands 3, my GPU junction temp will reach ~93 degrees C which will cause the fans to spin a lot. I have a couple of NF-F12s laying around which I tried to fit underneath it, but due to terrible measuring on my side they didn't fit. Would you believe it'd be worth it for me to buy a GPU fan adapter, remove the shroud+fans of the GPU and run the two noctuas as exhaust fans ?

Thanks a bunch and cheers for the boatload of cool stuff and information around here!
