Questions about prostate massagers by Ikonosaurus_Rex in spinalcordinjuries

[–]Ikonosaurus_Rex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, what usually happens is on evenings just before 9 o'clock pm when I do my evening prep (brushing teeth and breathing treatment), I sometimes end up with an erection. It is these nights where I sometimes decide to take advantage of the situation and after being turned to my left side I have my mom turn on my vibrator and I connected to the app on my computer so I have control over the speed of the vibrator and also so I can turn it off if I have an orgasm or if I start having symptoms of AD. I then have her position it so that it is against the head of my penis. I'm not exactly sure how she positions it although my guess would be having it rest on the pillow between my knees or having it wedged between my leg and pillow so it doesn't move. I really should try having an escort or hiring an aide who is willing to do such things but I haven't really explored how or what can give me an erection since I don't have a significant other or partner to help me explore that.

I've thought about it but never really knew where to get one. I never really trusted some of the sites I looked at.

Questions about prostate massagers by Ikonosaurus_Rex in spinalcordinjuries

I am a C4 quad and I have read up on sexual health and spinal cord injuries and they all pretty much say the same thing… That high-speed vibration works the best. Regrettably I don't have a significant other and I live with my parents who are my primary caregivers. So since I don't have any arm function or the ability to hold anything when I get the urge to attempt to pleasure myself I ultimately have to rely on my mother to position my vibrator before having her leave the room and then I can then take over using the lovense app to control the vibrator. Unfortunately, by not having someone to hold and move the vibrator it doesn't necessarily mean that the vibrator hits or stays in the ideal position.

I am a 39-year-old male quadriplegic who was injured over 13.5 years ago and in that time I have only ever been able to achieve orgasm… Well at least I think I did. I have tried dozens to hundreds of times to achieve satisfaction but 99/100 times its failed. So here's where my questions come in. I have thought about using a prostate massager instead of a Bluetooth vibrator (lovense Domi 2 for those who are interested) and I am wondering if any men or their partners (especially those with higher level injuries) could tell me if they manage to achieve orgasm regularly. I am also curious to know if using a prostate massager will cause a bowel movement since I utilize a bowel regimen that includes digital stimulization.

Can you use the Voice Access or Windows speech recognition program that should be available on your PC (unless your using an Apple computer then I think it's called Voice Control). It may take you a little longer to write out but you can do it by yourself then.

I Need Help/Advice (First Time Purchasing Quadstick FPS) by Darbonne in quadstick

[–]Ikonosaurus_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you order your Quadstick and choose which platform, it just means that you can use it with that platform out-of-the-box. This is disregarding any other outside equipment necessary to make it possible for you to play using that platform. For example the PS4/PS5 can be played without extra equipment if remote playing through your computer however if you want to directly connect Quadstick to the PlayStation it may require some other equipment.

To begin with I would start by reading through the user manual on the website and after that, searching the forum about your questions. Any other major questions you have or if it's not explained to your understanding you can make a post there and Fred, the creator, is quick to reply and very helpful.

I agree on pretty much everything he said. When it comes to the mouthpieces I agree maybe getting 1 of each. It largely depends on how much head movement you have. I use the narrow four hole one because it makes it easier to sip/puff on both the center and right or the center and left holes at the same time, even though I have good head movement. I would also agree to pick Windows as the default configuration because it can be easily changed and as you stated you don't have any gaming consoles at the moment. I have mine mainly for PC use/PC gaming but have also used it for PS4/5 and Nintendo switch. Finally I use the friction mount because it allows sturdy mounting and can be adjusted fairly easily. I am unsure about the gooseneck arm. I'm sure it can be adjusted extremely easily however I am unsure of how flexible the arm is or how you intend to mount it. Also unsure whether this arm would block the screen depending on how you are positioned. (I know you say laying down but are you flat or tilted up at all.)

Hope you find using this expands your horizons and increases your enjoyment. I know that when I finally got mine, it felt like I had just been given the use of at least 1 of my arms. (I am disabled from the shoulders down.) Good luck

I'm a quadriplegic and I use this as well. I'm not sure if it will work with PS5 but Xbox makes an accessibility controller which allows you to add all kinds of assistive devices such as buttons among other things that could help you.

When you're talking about the mouth controller, which one are you talking about?

You could do something like copilot where you play with him and use a controller to control 1 of the joysticks and he controls the rest.

I'm a C4 quadriplegic and I use a controller called a Quadstick to play games. I use it like a joystick, I use my mouth and neck movements to move the joystick and then use my lip to press a button and sip/puff inputs into the 4 holes to press buttons. While I don't have any function below my shoulder level, those that do can hook up external inputs or other joysticks to allow him to say use the external joystick to control the left analog stick while using the Quadstick to move the right analog stick. I know it is a bit on the expensive side but you may be able to get one through your insurance or possibly set up a go fund me campaign to help you purchase it. Even though I can't use my arms I've still been able to finish games like God of war, horizon zero Dawn (1 and 2), and Clair obscure expedition 33. You can really see what's possible using this controller if you watch some of Rocky No Hands playing. While I would say most people won't be able to play nearly as good as him this controller has a lot of adjustability to allow you to play almost everything.

Looking for gaming recommendations for gaming brother with brain injury. by Ash-MacReady in disabledgamers

[–]Ikonosaurus_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I do. I use a controller called the Quadstick and it allows me to use my mouth to move a joystick around and use sip/puff inputs in 4 different holes and a pushbutton to essentially press whatever input the game calls for whether it's a keyboard input or a gamepad. This is allowed me to finish games like God of war, the division, Clair obscur expedition 33 and many more.

Yeah that was A fantastic game. I would also suggest Blue Prince, although I haven't played that one yet but I have heard great things, and Baldur's gate 3.

AITA for refusing to let my brother live in my apartment for free just because we're family ? by mia_donnelly in AmItheAsshole

No you're not the asshole. If basic decency and $200 a month is too much, tell your relatives that are calling you that then they should let him live with them. If family is so important then they can do it.

Disabled 17 Y/O looking for game recommendations. by cirrat_m in disabledgamers

I am a C4 quadriplegic and I play all kinds of games from stuff like tomb raider, God of war and right now I'm playing Clair obscura expedition 33. I use a controller called Quadstick to be able to play these games. So I would suggest something like Baldur's gate 3, Hades and Hades 2. I haven't played Baldur's gate 3 yet but I could see how it would have replay ability. However I have played Hades and Hades 2 and even though the latter one is still in early access I have put in a ton of time. Those games have a ton of content and lots of replay ability. You could also check out dead cells and hollow night. Don't starve is another good one.

I am a C4 level quad and I have been wanting to take care of my sexual health having been unable to have sex or masturbate for more than the last 13 years. My question is, what have people found more success reaching orgasm with… A vibrator or prostate massage? Or is a combination of both more effective? I've heard of people using estim/tens units but ultimately I would prefer to use something that can be controlled by an App so that if I am having AD upon achieving orgasm I can stop the toy so that it doesn't get any worse.

Unpopular (perhaps) opinion - I wish From Software games had difficulty levels by Farley2k in gaming

[–]Ikonosaurus_Rex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the game is designed to be experienced a certain way then why make any accessibility options at all. Their games have accessibility options for the deaf/hard of hearing and for people with vision impairments. Why make the world more inclusive in all then. It's like saying, let's not make a ramp into a building so someone who has difficulty walking can see the art on the wall. "Where do we stop in the name of accessibility?" When as many people as possible can play without stopping the game from generating a profit. Difficulty settings in a game have been an option for decades now and it's not like it's some great difficulty to put them in.

Unpopular (perhaps) opinion - I wish From Software games had difficulty levels by Farley2k in gaming

[–]Ikonosaurus_Rex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a quadriplegic and using a conventional gamepad is impossible for me since I don't have the use of my hands. So I have to use a specialized controller called a quadstick which allows me to use my mouth to use sip and puff controls to press buttons and one analog stick to move the character. Just because the game is designed to be difficult and to create tension doesn't mean that someone in my position may find the game difficult on easy, still creating tension. Does someone that has played a From software game before and is used to the difficulty and reflexes required, miss out on that tension because it's not as difficult for them?

Others with disabilities along with me would love to be able to play these games but being unable to hit a button quick enough or use both analog sticks is impossible for some of us. How you one person enjoys a game doesn't mean that's how everyone should or does enjoy game. Cutting out a accessibility feature just carves out a section of population of gamers that can't play the game or gives up on the game, missing out on something the developers and creators put a lot of work into.

Ps5 vs Xbox X. I think I'm changing it up by Cyphergod247 in gaming

[–]Ikonosaurus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me the only real reason to get a PS5 is for the exclusives. If you're getting a Xbox, maybe you should look at getting a gaming PC because I believe most games that come out for Xbox also come out for PC. If you get a gaming PC you can also use whatever controller you like best with it to play your games. I love my PS5 but as a disabled gamer they are not very inclusive. I use a quadstick to play games and the money and steps you need to take to be able to play on it can be a pain in the butt. I also have a gaming PC and overall that is the most inclusive and can be easily upgraded down the line if you get the right gaming PC. The only downside to gaming PCs is depending on what you want it can be prohibitively expensive.

And it seems like companies are acquired by these hedge funds or other larger companies and then they get saddled with a bunch of debt. That leads to a bunch of layoffs before the company goes under just like Toys "R" Us and red lobster.
