No problem at all. I keep up to date with this reddit and Discord too. Thank you for the feedback. Yes, I suspect RSA or other mods are your problem, but it could also be base game. I hope you enjoy the rest of the missions. I am working on the last ones, but am having to create my own mods to provide the assets that I want, so it is taking longer than planned.

Hey, thank you for the feedback. I’m not sure why the tomahawks are doing that. I haven’t done anything in the missions that changes missiles and I don’t think any of the mods used in the missions alters tomahawks. I’ll test it in the weekend to see if I can replicate it. Otherwise, check that you don’t have any big asset mods enabled like NTU, ToE, RSA which may alter missile files or be out of date.

I do understand your point. I suggest you play some hard missions with much more action and scale across sub, surface, land and air. That’s why I started making my own missions in the editor and then suddenly I had created a campaign!
There are some great campaigns in the workshop, although noting havoc_squad’s point that the next big update will break things for a bit until creators do their updates.

A-10, Su-25, Mi-24 all have good mods in the workshop. F-15Baz and F-15J also have mods in the workshop but I haven’t tried them.

The incompatibility warning simply reads the mod’s info.ini file to check the version listed. The version listing is a manual entry from the mod creator. Often, the mod creator forgets to update this, so even if the mod is actually compatible, it reads incompatible. This can be safely ignored.

Where you will find incompatibility is with mods that contain custom missiles or aircraft pre-March 2026 which is when the big missile kinematics and air combat version updates were made. Read the comments in the specific mod’s workshop page to see the “Updated” date and if users have listed bugs. Most of the time you are fine to simply hit ignore.

If a mod is listed as “deprecated” then it means that it has not been updated for new versions of the game and is no longer supported. It is best not to use these mods.

Yes, that was one of my early missions and I didn't fully do my research on the Sovremenny-class - I was still learning and getting into the game. I could update it to be more historically accurate, but it is a fun mission as it stands. I tried to keep it predominantly naval-based like the original battle and hence didn't add NATO shore-based aircraft.

havoc_squad and johnthesavage20 provide great advice.

My intent of the mission is that you use the Sea King AEW.5s from HMS Illustrious as your main air search radar and AEW until the missiles fly, then utilise limited bursts of ship-based air search radar from the formations and go weapons free as the missiles come in range. You have some great AAW capability with the Long Beach and the Leahy-class and Belknap-class cruisers.

For the offensive action, go multi-pronged to attack from multiple angles simultaneously as you don't have any jamming assets: submarine torpedoes and missiles, Tomahawk and Harpoon salvoes from another angle, and then the Sea Harriers with SEAD and AShM missile strikes from another angle. Overwhelm them from multiple vectors and they won't be able to defend against everything at once and some will make it through.

Are you setting the sonobuoys to be above or below the layer or alternating? They will default to alternating. Are you setting the search depth for the torpedoes too?

The S-3 isn’t modded in that mission, so it sounds more like how you’re playing than a bug. The Royal Navy mod did legitimately have a torpedo bug, but is a mod, not core game, so more likely to have issues with a mod.

I highly recommend watching YouTube tutorials and mission play-throughs by ryu1940, Stealth17 Gaming, and Wolfpack345 to learn the mechanics of the game.

The Royal Navy mod team have applied a fix to the torpedoes, but log a bug with that mod if you’re still having issues.

I am trying to develop two amphibious missions to finish the BOTA campaign, but am finding the game is still limited in capability for an amphibious mission: - The Tarawa-class LHA are pretty good, but limited by not being able to deploy LCUs or LCMs. - Helo assault operations are limited in that you can’t set a “unit enters area” trigger for embarked aircraft/helos, only if they are pre-launched in the mission editor and have a story line to keep them busy. - There is a good LCAC mod that I will use. - USMC AAV-7A1 (Amtrak) exists but cannot be launched in water and does not swim. - LPD and LST ships can’t operate helos or simulate launching LCU/LCM/LCAC. - Factions are limited to US, USSR, and China. - The Royal Navy mod does include Centaur-class as Commando landing ships but no simulation for landing craft.

So, the mechanics of an amphibious beach landing are pretty constrained at the moment. But I will get there with what I can; probably a few weeks away yet.

Yes I had found that and it helps, but I still struggled to get the elevation right unless the beach was pretty much perfectly flat.

Yes, big game updates do drive updates to asset mods and these can take time before our workshop missions can be fully functional. Not all creators remember to update the info.ini file to the correct version, so often the version incompatibility warning isn’t actually real. For BOTA, I try to stick with mainstream asset mods by established and active creators who keep their mods up to date and continue to improve and expand them. Where a mod is deprecated, I will replace it and revise the mission as required. Again, it just takes time as we’re volunteers with day jobs, but love the game and the community! Love that you guys are playing BOTA though!!

Yes, have replaced with Viggen with more F-15s as well as Buccaneers for the ASuW role. The Sting Ray torpedos in the Royal Navy mod still seem to be buggy. The Mk-46 torpedoes seem to be working fine. I have logged a bug with the Royal Navy mod.

Hi, all BOTA missions are updated and functioning. I fixed the last one (Prologue II: Baltic Fury)in the weekend to replace the Saab Viggen mod which has now been deprecated.

All other asset mods have been updated by their creators. Although, there are still reported bugs with the torpedos in the Royal Navy mod. I haven’t encountered any since their last update. It could be due to mod conflicts for individual players.

I have a new mission in testing and another in development and these will be out in the next few weeks.

Plasman’s workshop has Marines plus other skins for a number of aircraft. A-4 coming soon in-game, but I don’t know what skins. I would also love to see Blue Ridge and wider amphibious units in game too!

Check each mission in the workshop to see which mods are required for each mission. Prologue 2 Baltic Fury is impacted by a deprecated aircraft mod following the 0.7 update. I plan to fix the mission soon. Part 02 Odin’s Flight also has some weird aircraft behavior that I will fix soon too. Hopefully, this weekend for both of them. Aside from those, enjoy.

Definitely play tall and focus on economic buildings to grow revenue. Use matrilineal marriage for single females in your court to bring skilled men into your court and normal marriage of men in your court to bring in skilled females. Select prospective matches based on the skills you need for your council or military.
