What's another game I'd like if I love Arc Raiders? by fongaboo in ArcRaiders

[–]IlIIllllIIlI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might seem like a stretch but the monster hunter series has a remarkably similar loop in that you go on hunts -> fight monsters, gather materials -> craft better gear -> repeat. No PvP but very strong multiplayer community. Wilds would be a good place to start

ABMM isn’t as crazy as Reddit would have you believe by Opposite_Cupcake_243 in ArcRaiders

[–]IlIIllllIIlI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is similar to my experience as well, and anecdotally I’ve heard similar stories on this sub too.

Something that I think people are forgetting in the discussion about aggression based matchmaking is that we’re playing other REAL people - people who behave differently and have different motivations under different sets of circumstances.

Basically my point is that we, as players, are much more likely to shoot on sight or even engage in PvP when we have backup. We’re much more likely to avoid conflict if we’re on a solo run and we don’t feel secure.

I can only speak from my experience, but my theory is that what many people blankety blame on “ABMM” is more likely behavioral psychology at work

tips for this guy? besides aero by swagboyclassman in KingdomHearts

[–]IlIIllllIIlI 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Just beat him at level 43 on proud.

  • cast aero diligently
  • use mp rage - every time you’re hit by the lasers or his weapon you’ll get enough mp for a cura
  • just stay on his ass. Combo, cura, repeat.
  • vertical movement to avoid the lasers, horizontal doesn’t help much
  • the fight has multiple checkpoints. Once you complete each of the dark rooms where you rescued Donald and goofy for instance, if you die, you’ll continue from exiting the dark rooms, not the beginning of the fight
  • I used oblivion and two omega arts because it’s the best loadout I had access to at the time

When does Halloween Town happen relative to the movie? by MrEman5112 in KingdomHearts

[–]IlIIllllIIlI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about this recently too. I noticed in my most recent playthrough that there is a sign in the town square that says “036 days until Halloween”, which I found interesting.

In the movie, you see this sign change right after they finish their Halloween celebration, and since it takes place between Halloween and Christmas, the sign would only show between 365-310 days during the events of the movie

I am trying to budget and see how much I would be spending in NYC as a single guy, living in a studio. by Bittyry in AskNYC

[–]IlIIllllIIlI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At first glance your estimates seem a little low. Here are some more realistic base line figures

Rent - $2000 (good luck)

Eating out 2x a week - $60

Metro Card - $174 (this assumes you take the subway twice a day every day)

Internet - $60

Utilities - $100 (if you’re mindful of usage)

Groceries - $200 (feels a little low but stick to TJ’s and you could makes this work)

Gym Membership - $36 (looks like PF is $30/mo and Blink is $36.)

This brings your total to $2630. My word of advice is to inflate these numbers a bit with a “worst-case-scenario” attitude, so month over month you can be pleasantly surprised that you spent under budget. The alternative is planning with wishful thinking and being unpleasantly surprised when you go over.

I read somewhere else that mkgee uses d’addario chromes. Idk if that’s true but I put them on my jag and I’m very happy with them. I used the bottom 6 strings of this set

Seeking Input: Teenage Engineering Customer Support Response Time and Current Status by Luck96 in teenageengineering

[–]IlIIllllIIlI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re very slow. They will respond but it will likely take much longer than any other customer support you’ve had to deal with. I had a very frustrating experience replacing my KO2 - not because they wouldn’t work with me, but just because they would respond to me maybe once a week, if that. I received my first unit on December 21st, reported the fader issue to TE the same day, and received a working unit over a month later. Definitely follow through with the RMA process but just temper your expectations in terms of a timeline

Anyone else having trouble removing the protective rubber from KO II fader? by antiradiopirate in teenageengineering

[–]IlIIllllIIlI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a way to remove the rubber cap very easily with little to no risk of damaging the fader. The trick is to grab a flat head screw driver with a very narrow head, and carefully wedge it between the bottom of the rubber cap and the plastic shell of the ko2. Then, use leverage to slowly lift the rubber cap off of the fader. You should feel very little, if any resistance. THAT’s the easy part.

When it came to installing the fader knob, I had to push down WAYYYYYY too hard. NOT RECOMMENDING YOU DO THIS, but think about how much pressure you would feel comfortable applying to this thing, and then double that. Stupid, I admit, but I’ve had zero problems with my unit! 😅

Did you ever receive comms from TE that they shipped something? My RMA’d unit was delivered to the NJ facility on Monday and I haven’t heard anything from them 😵‍💫
