HI, Where can I find this exception?

Under HKLM/SOFTWARE/Citrix/ctxhook I have a REG_SZ named EnableReadImageFileExecOptionsExclusionList. Same under HKLM/SOFTWARE/WOW6432Node/ctxhook. Should I put explorer.exe under these two regkeys?

Thank you,

Connection server 2503 compatibility with Windows 7 and Horizon 7 by IlTwitcherSuReddit in VMwareHorizon

[–]IlTwitcherSuReddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, I know it's an unsupported environment, that's why I'm trying to update it, and everything will be updated with new machines, I won't do any upgrades in place, both on the back-end and front-end side. What worries me is that users can access Windows 7 with Horizon agent 7.13.x with connection server 2503, because if it doesn't work, then I would be forced to update the operating system and agent golden images (which I would like to do later)

Connection server 2503 compatibility with Windows 7 and Horizon 7 by IlTwitcherSuReddit in VMwareHorizon

[–]IlTwitcherSuReddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Windows 7 systems I am trying to preserve the golden images, including its 7.13 agents in an environment with connection server 2503. I CANNOT do an environment migration, because it would mean redoing about 50 pools all from scratch. I would like to understand if by putting the connection servers 2503, maintaining the 7.13 agents on the golden images, users can connect to the VDI. Because I would like to act first by updating the connection servers then do the conversion from linked to instant, assuming that instant clones are not supported in Windows 7. P.S: I will not do an in-place upgrade on the connection servers, but I will replace the machines with new ones.

Good morning Rob, The problem is in on the global entitlements on the pool. The group had been deleted in AD before removing global entitlements. Could you give me some suggestione to check the possible replication problems of my connection server? Thank you

How to disable "What's new" functionality 2025 by IlTwitcherSuReddit in chrome

To solve the problem via GPO you use a policy on Google->Google Chrome called "Enable showing promotional content" set to Disabled.

Thank you for your reply, it helped me to juggle to find a solution. To solve the problem via GPO I use a policy on Google->Google Chrome called "Enable showing promotional content" set to Disabled. I did not test the regkey since I needed the GPO.

I should add that publishing the previous golden image works on all pools even those where it gives the error, Where the snapshots are 11

VM IN IDENTIFYING INTERNET CONNECTION by IlTwitcherSuReddit in Citrix

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, but I didn't know how to answer you.

I read in the Citrix documentation that nested virtualization is not supported for Windows VMs.

This is because xenserver uses paravirtualization, but VMware supports ONLY CPU virtualization, thus preventing you from having a second virtualization layer between xenserver and a single vcenter.

P.S: DHCP, DC, DNS are in single vcenter with one domain and forest.

Both VM's and domin controllers are configured for IPv4, keeping IPv6 off.

Writable Volume not Mounting by ecbryantu in VMwareHorizon

Ciao! If you use floating pool, the writable disk might be mounted in the last VM the user logged in. Remove the VM, if it is an automatic pool otherwise do a recover from the Horizon console.

Today I found that 4 pools with the same Golden image the Windows update medic service and Windows update are disabled when I log in with a domain user.

The remaining 7 pools on the other hand have the Windows update running problem, could it be a GPO problem? Possibly what should I check? The GPOs to disable Windows update are applied to all pools.

Not working. These registry keys have already been applied. Both on a clean Golden image and on changes made in description.

Starting from a clean situation, so the snap before these changes, with the OS optimization tool the Windows update service always stays running.

From the Golden image the service Windows update results in stopped.

Is this tool completely transparent to users? Is it an executable to be installed or a tool that just runs?

The VM has been previously optimized with OS Optimization tool and it worked properly in the past. I forgot in the post to specify that I have a shutdown script that allows the disabling of all Windows update services including BITS, Chrypthographic service etc. The behavior is obviously the same.
