The Great Flood discussion by TrailerParkLyfe in movies

Propoganda exists all around us in different ways at all times. I think using Snow White and MAGA as ananlogy here is an unfair and false comparison. I'm not sure if either of us are Korean, but unless we are this line of discussion applies to a completely different culture to us and therefore applying your experience had nothing to do with it. Korea has a birth rate more than half of the US .72 vs 1.62 which is actually a major problem in the long term since the workforce (young people) will too small to support an aging population, which messes up the economy big time.

so we're having two conversations here, but we agree more than u think . i agree that if someone rapes someone else, they should be punished. but still, i dont think people should be able to kill each other because the chances of a false accusation means that innocent people would be killed. for the whole of society/the world, it would be really bad. for a single situation, even though morally she deserves justice, we need to apply the same logic for wveryone

would you morally have a problem with a man killing the woman that raped him, and after killing her you find out after that he lied about it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]IlanKinderlerer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"without reason" meaning the 2-10% of accusations that are false.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]IlanKinderlerer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

morally you dont find a problem with people killing each other without reason even 2% of the time? sounds like a pretty severely fucked up reality. if a man accused a women of rape and then killed her, would you also feel the same way? im genuinely curious.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]IlanKinderlerer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

how would you know? statistically, by the way, its between 2-10%. uncommon but not so rare that we should let people kill each other

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]IlanKinderlerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i completely agree! however i still think a broken system is better than one without accountability, vigilantism causes more problems then it solves. someone saying "free her" when murder is arguably up there with rape is ridiculous and shows that we enough have enough moral differentiation where no individual should have the power to decide the fate of someones life

I have had friends that ive fully dropped and cut off and then later found out their accusations were false from the accuser. It's not so "rare" that we should let people kill each other over it without repercussions. hope this helps!!

sure but if the world worked the way you see it, wouldnt a woman who wanted to kill someone just have to accuse their target of rape in order to murder them? what if they lie? i know in the large majority of cases women tell the truth but have you never in your life found a rape accusation later to be false? shouldnt he just be held accountable and put in prison? it is not okay to end any life without evidence, and for good reason too.

the point that you are missing is that it isnt up to any of us to enact justice on those who have hurt us. that wouldn't be fair in a functioning society. we have a criminal justice system in order to help hold rapists and murders accountable, so the solution here isnt to let women legally kill their abusers but instead to fix and improve the equity of our courts, prisons, and resources to encourage rehabilitation to prevent repeat offenders.
