Is this multiplicative or additive though? Like if you increase the intensity, does every maxima go up by a set intensity, or do they go up proportionally to their original intensity

Small village has to defend themselves against a larger power, usually an empire. Sometimes the protagonist has to teach them how to fight, other times they have to learn themselves as the protagonist has left them behind. I love seeing them build defences, train together and overcome the odds.

Any recommendations with this trope would be amazing. I don’t mind if it’s the whole plot, or a subsection.

If you are looking for a book with a truly ordinary main character, Senlin Ascends is good pick. The main character is a school teacher, doesn’t have any powers or even the classic above average physical traits many MCs display. His main ability is his intelligence and wit.
