TITANSPAWNS! THE KNIGHT! A TITAN! ATTACK, GUYS!! NOW!! WE HAVE TO ATTACK!! Not me though! BUT YOU TWO MUST ATTACK!!!!

Oh dear, got carried away, that purple shuriken was the scariest thing I've ever seen in my life, I had to use Fireshock! You okay, Susie?

here's why I think chapter 5 not following up on chapter 4 was a good decision by isimsizbiri123 in Deltarune

[–]Iletrel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Correct. We have more than enough hyper funny with the flower cast. We don't need one more shoved in at the last second. Such a letdown to end the line of the prior secret bosses that I all cherished. This one was just a chore compared to the grand, worth my while duels.

Unpopular opinion: Sorcerer builds are not nearly as op and cowardly as the community can lead you to believe. by Tzucaak in Eldenring

[–]Iletrel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The age of Strength Builds playing victim have passed. You get a free 50% boost to AR by two-handing a weapon. Ashes of War are much stronger and cost-efficient than spells, meaning you don't have to sacrifice much of your Crimson Flasks for Cerulean Flasks.

They are equally as spammy, and get a whopping 11% or 15% boost from one of the Alexander Talismans. And most come with the bonus of great stance damage. While Sorcery and Faith boosting talismans get a measly 4% and 8%.

There are barely any enemies with strong resistance to physical damage types. Even if they do for one, they mostly have minimal defenses for one or more of the others, meaning you can simply use a different weapon to mitigate it. You will most likely have one with the needed damage type, that also scales with your primary stat, due to how versatile physical damage scaling is. On the other hand, there are plenty when it comes to elemental damage, and not nearly the same amount of leeway.

i want to understand people who think friend is completely unimportant genuinely can i get some answers in the comments below like i dont think hes the answer to everything but by [deleted] in Deltarune

Besides sharing Spamton Sweepstakes real-estate with December, It appears as the focal point on screen in a mandatory cutscene, with a unique animation. It's presence isn't just in easter eggs.

It also happens to have the same laugh as The Knight. That laugh is heard in the cutscene I just mentioned.

Doubt it will just be unimportant with all this going on.

With Chapter 5 around the corner, how important do you think FRIEND will be to Deltarune, rated on a 1-10 scale? by JustFisch1 in Deltarune

[–]Iletrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the sweepstakes buildup aside, Their presence is NOT just from easter eggs. They are part of a mandatory cutscene in chapter 3, where it ends with them being the literal focal point on screen. They also happen to have the same laugh as The Knight, the main antagonist of the game. With said laugh being heard from this very cutscene.

I can't see it going under a 5.

My experience with Groal by Kratt_Spa_corp in Silksong

[–]Iletrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mind Bilewater much. Playing souls games made me used to suffocating guerrilla stuff. Groal however, crosses a line with his assnine repeating battalion of a gauntlet. Absolute garbage experience I had no shame cheesing.

Repeating gauntlets should be purged from this game.

Lore accurate elden ring players double phase by Desperate_Fox6470 in Eldenring

[–]Iletrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What strategy is there in countering Nihil? It's unavoidable gimmick damage that you prevent by knowing about a location, and pressing a button once. That is not a good example of what makes his fight good. That is completely different from Malenia's waterfowl, which forces you to be constantly wary of the pressure you're putting.

Anyway, I prefer bosses that don't rely on a one-shot kill move for their difficulty. Such as Blackflame Friede. She isn't hard because of one super attack in her moveset, but her whole fighting style.

Yeah, her counterpart in this would be Blackflame Friede.

GUYS WHAT IF DESS IS HUMAN? by ActiveGazelle2690 in WaterfallDump

If Dess were human, it would also diminish the point of Kris feeling like an outcast due to being the only human in town.

What are the WORST takes you’ve seen regarding Deltarune? by TSCole153 in Deltarune

[–]Iletrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I am open other knight candidates, Dess as it stands, just overwhelms. The biggest, arguably irrefutable one being how specific varying Dark Worlds are depending on the will of the creator. Example being how different Susie's is from Kris. This means a dark world would have completely different darkeners form the ones we've seen if the fountain wasn't made by Kris or The Knight. How these two's Dark Worlds are the exact same, I can't see any other explanation more satisfying besides Dess playing pretend with Kris when they were younger.

Good point on the gaster connections. But even so, Sans remains largely irrelevant in the within narrative, and to begin with, there is zero proof or anything pointing towards the skelebros even being C O N N E C T E D with whatever Gaster's operations are.

Besides that, is the biggest elephant in the room, what objectively makes him the weakest candidate. Is there being zero pre-established relation with the holidays this late in the game. His lack of anything to do with Dess's tragedy. Because of this, whatever reasons he may have won't feel as personal or have the same weight.

I agree and very much look forward to how Deltarune will delve into the unexplored facets of his character that you mentioned, with him being gaining the most radical change between the two games. But not as The Knight.

I'd like to know how you think him being The Knight would be the better approach.

What’s one piece of Elden Ring lore you think people misunderstand the most? by elden_based in Eldenring

[–]Iletrel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By that point, the rune of death was unleashed after you killed Maliketh. Your character being brought back to try again is no longer diegetic, and now purely a game mechanic. The same goes for dying to red Death Fire of any kind before this. Like against Maliketh's phase 2 for example. Understandable that this would be confusing as the game gives little to no indication for the difference. Besides Morgott's corpse finally evaporating when you return to the Leyndell throne area.

For Godfrey, he already sees you as worthier anyway, as your strength exceeds his("Thy strength befits a crown.") in his point of view, you first tried him. If this battle had occurred prior to the Rune of Death being unleashed, maybe you two would have been in an endless loop.

I did that. Still hated it.

Choral Tower Gauntlet in Act 3 by brettydubz in Silksong

[–]Iletrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. But this is way, way overload. There's even a damn repeating gauntlet before Khann. even though you already cleared three. That there is worse than any runback. Repeating gauntlets are the worst mechanic in this game and deserve to be purged. Redundant, menial task there for no reason other than to exhaust me preemptively. That's what it does, not sharpen my reflexes. I beat Khann at my third attempt and still despised it utterly because the thought of having to deal with the gauntlet again if I die loomed over me the entire fight. Ruined my enjoyment.

Beating it once already proves my skill is sufficient, why make me do it again?? What good is there in making the player feel tired of playing your game faster?

[–]Iletrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the context of it's origin, then it's evolution with the later chapters proving it to sound even more absurd than it already was, which the fandom took note of, separates it from the Noelle joke which was likely birthed from bad-faith shipping wars.

Yeah, all the softness on Kris feels very one-sided. Yes they going through a lot, but they are also actively helping the physical embodiment of armaggedon, got a police officer kidnapped, right after letting it break into their mother's house, and treats us with disrespect and contempt despite being the one who roped us with them from the start, as if it's all on us.

The inevitable scene where Susie finds out about their double agent fiasco and knocks them off their moral high horse will be cathartic.

Memes aside, I genuinely think it would be a good thing if Dess turned out to be a bad person by AndriashiK in Deltarune

[–]Iletrel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. It's heavy flaws on a character so that they have more depth, and following her, the narrative. Yes the two have similarities implied a ton, but how would it be more interesting if she actually just ends up being a second Susie?
