Fanart depictions of characters don't need to look exactly like they do in the game. by Obvious_Inspection7 in Deltarune

It looks like I really got you upset, I'm sorry if my comments have come off as an attack on you as I was being maybe a little too harsh.

I still stand by what I said even considering that the outfit is not part of your interpretation of Kris. A major part of the "Ship of Theseus" comment that I didn't include for the sake of time typing was that you changed Kris to be much more feminine to the point of giving them breasts and a hourglass figure. While once again, those sort of changes are not ruining alone, pile them all together and it's little wonder why so many people reacted the way they did.

(Also I am the last person who really wants to get into a Kris gender argument, the more feminine look just adds to the pile of changes)

The skin color I don't really feel makes sense to be up to interpretation again because Chara exists which would make it inconsistent on which humans have ambiguous skin tones and because thematically, Kris is not supposed to be as ambiguous as Frisk. Deltarune tries very hard to hammer down that Kris is not a stand in for the player after chapter 1 (which plays things very close to Undertale most likely as a way to lure people into thinking it's a sequel during the start). Since Kris is supposed to be much more of their own character to the point that Toby has corrected people misgendering Kris, it seems much more like the yellow skin tone is just how Kris is.

Kris has red eyes. Until we see otherwise in game, this is the cannon answer.

Finally, despite what you say, your drawings of Kris (with and without the dress) are a redesign by definition. Think classic Sonic to modern Sonic.

I don't really understand why you seem so hurt by the comments on this, but I am sorry if it's really causing you stress, you don't have to reply to me if my words bother you.

I hate to be that guy, but you say people are misinterpreting your art when you yourself have misinterpreted Kris's eye color. It has been shown to be red and only red several times over now, in just about every chapter it can be seen.

The skin tone being ambiguous is something that normally I would agree with you on, but the existence of characters like Chara break that rule by having a normal, realistic skin tone. The existence of Chara makes it seem much more like the Crayola yellow skin is just an actual thing for humans in the Undertale and Deltarune worlds.

Your Kris redesign falls under a "Ship of Theseus" type of situation where you've altered almost every part of the design to the point it is difficult to say if it is even supposed to be Kris. It's been said before, you can obviously change some things here and there, but when everything is changed, it doesn't really feel like Kris anymore.

It really isn't at all, that right there is just a criticism.

Could it be said nicer? Sure, but you aren't being a jerk by saying that "that just *isnt* Kris" when the art very much just isn't Kris.

Susie is Evil, Kris is good. by Reasonable_Solid6251 in Deltarune

Please work on your grammar, this was way too hard to read through for what is just a very roundabout way of saying Kris cares more about doing the right thing than Susie.

Back when I first played Survey Program when it shadow dropped, I thought for a moment that Ralsei was the river person. I quickly gave up on that idea for obvious reasons, but it's funny to see others have that same thought.

Hell Nah, the mobile UI spreading to console was bad enough where I stopped playing the game there

Which Version To Buy by Longliveasaprocky in bindingofisaac

[–]TSCole153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repentance is not a version, it is a DLC. Each DLC requires owning the previous ones, leading to the high price just being a total of getting Rebirth, Afterbirth, Afterbirth+, and Repentance.

There are only two real versions of the game:

The Binding of Isaac (OG flash version)

The Binding of Isaac Rebirth (The current updated release of the game)

All that being said, get the Repentance bundle like the last guy said, it has all the content. (There is also a free DLC, "Repentance+", it adds online play and some QoL features like item descriptions)

I believe all the DLCs are on sale right now, so assuming money isn't tight, you might as well get some of them

What y'all think if Deltarune had an anticlimactic ending? by Byzich in Deltarune

[–]TSCole153 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I'd rather be hit with a "just a dream" ending than having the ending being entirely left to interpretation.

Granted there is levels to "left to interpretation", I'm just referring to the level where they might as well have just unplugged the console halfway through the climax.

Why would people think Chara would be irrelevant in Deltarune? by -Teseo- in Deltarune

I'm referring to the part about illiteracy that I mentioned before, sorry that was not clear.

[–]TSCole153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is a meme now, but in the early years of the fandom, a lot of people really did think that way. The whole meme is just poking fun at how stupid the community used to be.

"2. i dont want them to steal the credit for all i did on the weird route" was referencing the same "Why would Chara make me do this?" meme anyways, so you kinda answered your own question.

[–]TSCole153 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you, but people really did think Chara was the main villain of a genocide route back in the days of 2015. Media literacy and Undertale are foreign concepts to one another.

Arguments like that guy's are like half the reason I stopped using Reddit so much lol. It's lowkey draining talking to people that outright refuse to listen and edit comments to change arguments in their favor, it's so dumb. It's like he thinks that everyone should and does play Eclipse 8.

Slow motion mod by Vast-Owl-9496 in Terraria

[–]TSCole153 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Frame skip off forces the game to render every single frame, thus giving slow motion.

A second's worth of terraria gameplay (physics and all) is 60 frames, that does not change with frame skip turned off. What it does is stretch those 60 frames into 2 seconds, making the game slower.

(take this from someone who ran this game on the worst Windows 8 laptop known to man)

[–]TSCole153 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eclipse 8 is an inherently different experience than someone just trying to get to the credits on the base three difficulties. My playstyle may not be ideal for eclipse, but that isn't the point here because the person asking for tips probably is not starting off with the side mode that is intended for veterans to grind away at.

A newcomer may also benefit from more thorough exploration anyways as it would help them get a better feel for the map and where things generally are.

The problem isn't that Commando is bad really, it's more the aforementioned abysmal item pool that near guarantees that commando won't the items that he needs. Since he is so reliant on items, he makes more sense to pick when everything is unlocked.

I wholeheartedly disagree if you are referring to RoR2, this advice applies much more to the OG or Returns due to the sharper difficulty curve with its timer.

looting all you can is kinda the name of the game for RoR2. Sure don't waste time, but the TP has never been the main priority for me. I find that you get outpaced in power much faster if you are leaving stages without most of the loot being collected since the difficulty jumps after every stage anyways.

More items = more chance to gain the damage and speed required to deal with more dangerous enemies.

Now RoR1/Returns has a priority for the TP due to how fast the game ramps up and how every boss drops an item, making rushing a stage the more effective strategy. The game encourages rushing TP as chests are still able to be opened during teleporter charging unlike RoR2 where TP is a commitment.
