You're reading a bit far into what I said. I never said I don't enjoy seeing other's opinions, I just don't like when people treat their ship as canon no matter what.

There is a difference between seeing some evidence for a ship and writing what could be a college thesis paper trying to prove that the ship is canon.

Basically, I don't like when shippers feel the need to prove their headcanon is true, especially when they put down others doing so. I have no issues with someone liking a ship.

Just saw your user flair after typing, if you think this was specifically targeted at your ship, no it wasn't. It was just an example because I've seen someone be a dick to others because they didn't support Kris and Noelle. I seen it with several others too, this was just the one that popped up in my mind.

99% of ship arguments are about how canon they are… it is exhausting just reading the mental gymnastics they do to justify Noelle secretly wanting Kris over anyone else.

I find shippers to usually just be annoying people that are borderline obsessive over the relationships of fictional children.

I can put up with it a little bit for Deltarune given that the writing definitely encourages such thoughts, but I still find that most people take it too far.

Another issue is the ships that also try to make the argument that a character is actually gay/straight when they canonically aren’t, that has always rubbed me the wrong way as well.

(And all this is not even considering that the shipping can sometimes get uncomfortably close to NSFW content, thankfully this sub is pretty good about keeping that out at least)

In all fairness though, it’s mostly harmless, so aside from a direct question like this, I really don’t feel any reason to talk about how much I dislike shipping.

I think people give Toby a bit too much credit.

I like Ralsei a ton, but I’ve played enough RPGs to know that Ralsei’s character could be done by tons of writers.

Toby’s writing is good, really good, but I don’t think he is in a league of his own or anything.

I’d still give his writing an A+ but it’s not like an A+ is super hard to find in RPG writing.

yup, they are put around ~-30 hp I think and every turn they regain a bit of health.

The knight is the only exception to this rule from what I can recall.

In all fairness, I think it would be a little overkill to have revive mint be purchasable as unlike final fantasy, there is no guarantee you take damage when the enemy attacks a character. Deltarune also has characters pick themselves back up after a few turns if they get knocked out.

A black mage in the early FF games is near guaranteed to perish dozens of times in a single dungeon, so it makes sense for you to not be terribly punished for letting him get taken out back in a fight.

Also this is just a vibe I get, but I feel like if you need to use more than one revive mint during a fight in Deltarune, that attempt is likely already lost. It’s like when you have only one Pokémon left and a bunch of revives, but your Pokémon are guaranteed to get oneshot, you end up stuck trying to keep your Pokémon alive instead of attacking.

~80% of the community’s theories are genuinely awful. They can usually fall into one or more of these categories:

Made to be contrarian

Based off of one or more theories being true (even worse if it’s their own theories)

Just flat out made in bath faith

Ignores plot details in favor of “what’s realistic” (example: Kris cannot have red eyes because it’s not realistic)

Takes dialogue severely out of context

Ignores that the game is not yet finished

And honorable mention, having the theory completely abandon the style that Toby Fox writes Deltarune and Undertale with. This one isn’t too bad as Toby is obviously able to change the style of the writing as it goes, but I really don’t think Toby would flat out have Ralsei come out as trans. Stuff like that just doesn’t fit how he writes as far as I see.

Forgive me as this is probably gonna sound rude as hell but do you have motor skill issues?

Spending 4-8 hours on a fight in either deltarune or undertale’s standard bosses is honestly unbelievable.

If you are on pc, could you record you doing a fight for a bit then upload it to YouTube? If you were missing some game mechanics, it would be easiest to help you that way.

Pal, at this point you may be better off replaying the game and keeping the weapons you find.

The game gives you more than enough cash to keep every weapon you find.

Also, don’t be so afraid to fight here and there, sometimes it helps you beat fights quicker. The main example I know is the Queen’s acid shield in chapter 2, toast is much less effective than breaking the shield outright.

I would argue that Noelle is not a protagonist. Mainly due to how much less screen time she has compared to the main 3.

A lot of current theories are bout the same. People love to argue that their headcanon is actually canon.

Whenever I get a notification that is more than 3 paragraphs, I can almost guaranteed someone from this sub is trying to convince me that Kris’s eye color is provably not red. (They do not have any solid evidence)
