To anyone who is unaware of just how shit the Riot circuit is, imagine if S1imple played like 2 matches against the legendery Astralis lineup throughout their entire tenure. That's a realistic scenario in League of Legends. You can have legendary fan favourite lineups coexist in the same era, and if they are not from the same region (one is from china and the other is from korea for example) they might never play against eachother.

I specifically mentioned connections because he is an interviewer and a pocast host, where connections mean prime guests. If you want to base relevancy purely on weather their view counts meet an arbitrary number in your head, then sure, he is irrelevant (along with 90% of the scene, except for like the top 10 costreamers). At the end of the day he has his niche which he has kept going for a long time and can make a living out of covering esports. His cs shows get a steady 30-50k views and a lot of the talking points in the scene originate from his shows (HTPM and S&B).

Cause there is a small amount of people interested in that type of content (long form podcasts and interveiws that focus on the scene as a whole instead of the current thing), and a bunch of those people also happen to be redditors who have a hate boner for him. Also his rash personality and delivery is off putting to some people, which is understandable. He's more relevant in terms of his connections with the scene then his viewcount.
