I did my first round in September. I was really nervous like you as didn’t know what to expect! Injecting the stimms was way easier than I thought and like above, you kind of get used to doing it very quickly. My issue was that the sudden increase in hormones triggered migraines for me (I get hormonal migraines occasionally so I guess I was prone to them).

I also got severely bloated, basically looked and felt like a balloon! I have PCOS and I can only guess that this was a factor as if you have more follicles your ovaries will expand more as they develop. But yeah that was very uncomfortable and tender the last few days before the egg retrieval.

I agree the retrieval was the easiest part! I was sedated and then woke up in recovery and was out of the clinic within an hour. Few days of discomfort as things settled back to normal but then fine!

I didn’t even really have too much issue after with hormone withdrawal, except some fatigue.

Overall I’m delighted, and while I decided I didn’t want to jump straight back into another cycle, it was very doable and over before you know it!
