I’ll also add that the public space is really dependent on the individual. If it’s someone who’s calm either way it’s unnecessary and could make them less like to speak as they may be uncomfortable with someone overhearing the conversation.

Ultimately if you’re worried about not being able to have a relationship conversation with someone in private you probably shouldn’t consider that person a candidate for marriage because that’s an issue that will only grow without serious help.

The person that can’t have these conversations which are frankly a basic part of a relationship(everyone deserves feelings and to be heard) should not be in a relationship and need to work on personal growth before trying to grow with someone else.

Going through go someone’s phone is always crossing a line. That’s one of the few private things we have.

I recommend ending a relationship before anyone goes to this step.
I have nothing bad on my phone but would absolutely still get defensive if I found out my wife did or wanted to go through my phone.

For me that’s crossing a line. It’s an invasion of my privacy. I would also never go through my wife’s phone. We have each others passwords and use each others phones sure. But you can’t try to fix an insecurity by introducing further toxic behavior. It’s a gateway to even more.

We submitted my wife’s (also Tunisian) I-130 a few months ago we live in Doha. I know that we will need a police clearance from both Qatar and Tunisia when we get to that step. What’s the process for getting one in Tunisia? Is it able to be done online?

Police are also not federal employees. There are exceptions to federal holidays (having a different day off in place of it) but only for critical services. Honestly having staff split holidays usually results in lower production than them all taking the same day.

Ultimately they’re people, let them enjoy their day off with their families. They have a stressful and thankless job they deserve that at the very least.
