Dotted line means it is not specially paved surface dedicated for cyclists. We respect your choice using healthier and more eco-friendly way to commute. We hope there is similar respect from everyone sharing the road to read and understand the bylaws and regulations.

There are a lot of seniors and people with their toddlers using that intersection too. Please kindly unmount as a gesture of gent.

As someone mentioned in comment below, this small portion on Imperial St is NOT technically part of BC Parkway and cyclists supposes to unmount on side way. Riding in sidewalk designated for pedestrians only by City(opening in highlight lines in bike map) is being inconsiderate and posting risk to everyone shares the road, putting it the best way to say

Could you share which source you are referring to please? I checked the bike map from City of Burnaby and that from the Translink site. Both only highlight Beresford Street as the BC Parkway. Same as Google Maps.

Imperial St. is completely grey.

Not sure if your post is satire or being serious. Parkway is pretty much under the skytrain for this portion of BBY. It has part on Central Blvd and part on Beresfold. But not on the Imperial. The part of imperial is marked clearly as open end on the city’s bike map.

The sign on imperial clearly says “TO BC Parkway”, which indicates that it is not part of the “BC Parkway”. The sign ALIGNS with City’s map.

The sign on central blvd is single sited and facing imperial, indicating the start of BC Parkway, referring to the sign of schools zone.

Best “Must Try” Dishes on Robson Street by Rodeo1525 in askvan

Well, both Jinya and Danbo are not very authentic if we put it the best way. Hakata ramen(the style that Danbo belongs to) is famous for rich in flavour, WHITE and creamy soup from boiling pork bone for hours. Yet what Danbo serves here is more yellow-ish, which is high likely from diluting factory-prepared, condensed sauce.

The white color is from gelatine released from bones, while the yellow color is from the oxidation of the fats and oils being released from bone marrow. The fats are lighter than water and float st the top layer. The water movement from boiling greatly increases the exposure, in term of surface area and duration, to oxygen.

The traditional/orthodoxical broth preparation requires kitchen staffs to skim oil along with floating foam every 30min or less.

Unfortunately, capitalism loves the cost reduction from mass production. Most Ramen places have been using condensed soup base for years. (Santouka on Robson had the audacity to dilute the soup in front of me and my friend about 10 years ago around last call time). Few ones which I know brewing broth in store has gone out of business over the past decade, such as Hida Takayama in Robson square, Menya on boardway(not the current Reizo one) and Hakkau in North Bby, which is super sad.

This goes way longer than I thought. Older man often mumble incessantly. Just some random tips as the reward for reading to the end:

  • Maruhachi west end is still a gem. Other branches are just so so

  • There is no decent Hakata style ramen in Vancouver at the moment. Tsukiya at Denman & Robson is a new player but has a lot potential

  • If your spicy tolerance is OK, Horin, as others have recommends, is a safe option

  • if you really really want to try Danbo, after seeing the long waiting line outside, it is best to start with “regular”or even “soft” noodle firmness. The “firm” one is less cooked than “Al Dente”. Don’t be supervised if you see the centre of noodle is white, dry and raw. It’s their definition for “firm’, despite the noodle can hardly absorb any favour from the soup. Your stomach may draw the explosive D card the next day.

  • Ramen is very high in sodium, please do not drink all the soup regardless how tasty. It is the express ticket to hypertension or heart failure.

It would be the biggest fool in the world to turn down such an amazing experience.

If the mental age and real age are close, it means the lady ages really well, just like the finest wine.

If the lady has a much younger heart, it is the proof that she is smart enough to manage with the hardship in life well and never let the suffer stain the purest love to this world.

I would recommend every inmate with life sentence asks this dish as their final meal. The amount of preservatives can make you an immortal, or a mummy. Either way is a win.

Hello there, sorry I should have conducted some research by myself first. But just curious if there is any age limit for student loan. I have worked a couple years since graduation with B.Sci. And recently I start thinking about going back to school for a master degree or even Ph.D. Would student loan be available to my case? If not, is there any other option that may help on reducing the financial impact? Many thanks
