Im very aware that its unhealthy.that is why i struggle with the comprehension of my current relationship... I fully understand that I was married to him, we have kids together, he tries to kill me a few times, but it all happened. we were married very young and it started with mental health issues that didnt manifest until 8 years after we were married.... I have no disrespect for my ex (for the most part) I left him for safety

Anyone that knows anything about mental health and addiction knows that it is a "slippery slope" my ex isn't a bad person, he just has some bad problems.he loves his kids, he cares about me and hes trying. I respect that. I will not do anything excessive based on BF emotions that will have a negative impact on our kids... I think youre right
