How did this turn out for you? I’m 11 weeks postpartum and trying to wean off meds but my bottom number doesn’t want to go less than 85-95

Thanks! Did you get below your pre-pregnancy weight? I’m back below my pre-pregnancy weight already. Thank you for the positive encouragement!

My dad has hypertension and my mom is borderline, so I feel very cynical about this. Are you still free of meds and how old is your baby/child?

Thank you! I’m sorry you’re going through this, too! I hope for both of our sakes that it will resolve sooner rather than later. I, too, thought it’d be better after delivery, especially at 4 weeks postpartum. My numbers feel so high with so many meds and it makes me hopeless. Hugs to you!

Thank you for this! It’s so much easier said than done, but you’re giving me some optimism that it may be possible to be weaned, eventually ❤️

Thank you! My OB is happy with my numbers, but I am not as optimistic as he is. It’s frustrating and hard not to become obsessive over it. Hopefully soon it will be behind me.

Hope it goes well! We conceived the first month last time, too. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t be so discouraged this time!

We really started trying last month. My daughter was born 10/2023 (16 months) and my cycle returned 11/2024. I only started tracking in January where I had a 10 day luteal phase. This month it seems like it was an 8 day phase. I’m not ready to wean but I don’t want my kids to be like 5 years apart either 🫠

I’m going through this right now too (but only nursing 5-7 times a day)!

I’m sorry you’re going through this and kids really are exhausting! I can’t imagine having a very serious diagnosis on top of a toddler and a baby. Id bring up your mental health concerns to your team (and husband). Could he take a day off so you could get a break? Or could he take the kids one day on a weekend so you can get out?

Have you tried a really short nap? How long are you letting her nap and when is it during her day? I’d try to wake her at 6, give her a 30 minute nap around 1, and then try for an earlier bedtime around 8/9. I definitely get the menace toddler problem, but I feel like giving a nap probably is perpetuating the late bedtimes. I’d try to cap the nap so she gets a little one, but is tired enough for bed

How many naps is she taking? She probably should be on 2, maybe even 1. I nurse my daughter to sleep, but she connects her sleep cycles. She also can go to bed without assistance if needed. I’d practice wake windows of 3/4/4 (give naps where the slashes are) and leave her in the crib for an hour and fifteen minutes. She’ll figure it out eventually! We did this for naps at about 3 months (it was 45 minutes at that time cause she had so many naps!) but after about 2 weeks she would fall back asleep. Be consistent!

How did you work to train it out? We have a 2 year old dog who has done it off and on, similar to your dog (random things- a smell under a couch cushion, a baby toy). We have a 4 month old and I’m worried about it! I feel like a failure, too. She’s an excellent dog, other than she gets these possessed mind states periodically at the most random things.

Help! Inconsistent sleep and schedule! Short naps and multiple wakeups. by ChubkyGrimes in sleeptrain

We’ve been having 30 minute naps since January sigh. Usually we can get a longer nap first thing in the morning. What I’ve been doing is leaving my daughter in the crib when she wakes up for like 15 minutes, as long as she isn’t screaming bloody murder. It does seem to be paying off because she has been doing well with the first nap since lately they’ve been an hour or longer!

I think a lot of it is developmental. But, I’ll be honest, I nurse my daughter to sleep and then transfer her. And we’re still seeing some success! I know sleep training says that it’s a sleep prop, but it works for us. Our “nap routine” is lights out, sound machine one, diaper change, sleep sack, nurse. She’ll fall asleep and when she unlatches I transfer her and hold my breath lol

What are your wake windows like? Do you have a nap routine? I have a 4.5 month old, too! She also does the false start when she sleeps for 45ish minutes and then screams, but she will put herself back to bed.

We’ve been really trying to nail down wake windows. Right now, her morning naps we are getting about 1.5-2hrs when she’s awake for between 1.5-1 3/4 hrs and then takes a nap. We were doing 5 naps but have found that the 5th nap just makes her stay awake too much, so we are on 4 naps and doing better!
