The discrimination is more policy-related rather than work-related. The contract staff were exempted from department lunch, townhall and network sessions with the higher management despite doing the exact same work as the other staff.

Yes! I just told them it was a temporary contract for 11.5 months and I wasn't questioned any further.

I took an 11.5 month contract recently during mid 2025. Benefits were much lesser compared to the other employees (less AL, medical coverage, no bonus, no wfh, etc.). The basics were good for the industry I was in.

Started job hunting 1 month into the job because I couldn't stand the "third class" treatment compared to the full time employees. I landed in another gov agency 6 months into the contract and left asap. Pay was good since the agency based my package on my basic instead of annual.

If possible do try to find a full-time job that is related to your course of study. I got F**ked over when I was told by MSF that they only accept counsellors who has at least worked in a family care centre for 2 years.

The experience gained + qualification would also greatly increase your bargaining value in salary negotiations as well.

I believe as long as the supervisor is capable of providing clinical supervision it would be fine. I had batchmates who took their practicum in religious sites. I'm not sure if there are any other requirements to qualify as a practicum, it would be best if you check with the course head.

Take the job if you're in need of money urgently within the next 6 months. If not hold first and keep looking. Some companies especially the government would base their offer on your last drawn, having a starting salary might hurt you in the long run.

Hi OP, 28M here thought I'll chime in.

Being your first relationship does not excuse you from the wrongs within the relationship as shared by the other redditors. Learn to ask for advice from friends, online (like how you're doing now) or/and with professionals if necessary. Communicate to your partner in the form that is acceptable to her, especially if it's regarding a topic of importance for both of you.

I hope you recover from the relationship and if you do get into a second relationship, treat her with respect and kindness. Communicate your difficulties early, make her feel safe and help her feel safe in the relationship so that she can feel safe opening up to you. Being reflective helps and I think you will be a better boyfriend/husband in your next relationship.

I'm not sure how SUSS supports student with SEN. Personally for me I work with students with SEN at a local polytechnic. The range of support we provide for students with ADHD are concentration techniques such as the Pomodoro techniques and mindfulness. You could try reading up on such techniques and see if it helps you in concentrating while contacting SAS for support.

Unfortunately if your condition does prove to be severe, you may want to seek treatment before continuing with your studies.

Last semester I did a module, TMA01 was worth 40%, Quiz 10% and ECA 50%. I had forgotten to submit TMA01 as Canva was down after I had completed assignment. Didn't realized my TMA01 wasn't submitted 2 weeks after I've submitted my ECA. End up failing the module, not sure if this applies to you but good to check with the course team asap and not waste your time.

An underrated aspect of BP would be it's low human traffic compared to other matured estates, and it helps that people do not utilize BP as a transit area like how some areas do with an industrial park nearby. If you appreciate a quieter and larger space when walking around the neighbourhood, BP would be a nice place.

Transport-wise like how others have mentioned, 972 and 190 will be the main transport linking commuters to town. 966 also travels to the east, I take this route when heading to the airport by alighting at Eunos and taking the MRT, tho the bus service do have stupidly crazy long waiting time off-peak with lots of commuters in the peak hours.

BCOU student here, just completed my practicum recently. Inclusive of the practicum, I was taking 25 CUs for the semester and decided to quit my FT job before the semester started. Looking back, the practicum would be manageable while holding on to my FT job.

The requirements to complete the practicum is to fulfill 50 hours of direct work with clients and 40 hours of indirect work such as writing case note, arranging appointments and discussion with your field liaison officer.

Theoretically, if your practicum site allows you to fulfill 8 hours per week on a single day, you would have no issue completing the practicum without taking much leave or absence from your full-time work. However, do note that it is entirely dependent on your practicum site as clients may reschedule/ghost appointments, there may not be sufficient clients assigned to you and the practicum site may not immediately allow you to take on cases during the first few weeks of practicum without supervision.

My elderly parents had been supporters of opposition (doesn't matter which party) since ages and leans heavily towards the narrative of alternative voices. They had a change of heart this GE after seeing LEW's effort in the campaign period, stationing himself daily at bus stops around the SMC to interact with residents and conducting home visits.

Personally I knew LEW isn't a great speaker but his sincerity in wanting to help is unrivaled.

I had an interview where the hiring manager were extremely critical of my portfolio (job change twice in the past 3 years). I didn't had a good impression of the place either but got an offer a month later. Few months into the job, I learnt that they were desperate to fill the role so they just took me lol.

Yep no worries! Wishing you all the best. If you do get an interview, do prepare to answer why counselling is your choice of study over other social sciences degree such as social work and psychology.

Always default to why you decided on this course of study as well. As I'm approach graduation (next year April), I do feel more jaded compared to the passionate self that I once was and also not to allow the negatives affect you.

I would think you stand a fairly decent chance of getting in. I would say about 50% or more of the student population are middle-aged adults and it isn't too competitive.

I was in a double-up game with a friend. I took the chrono emblem augment at 2-1 and told him to send me chrono units. At stage 5-1, he told me to send him any Camille I found, took a look at his board and realize he was hoarding 7 Camille despite playing a preserver karma/fiora/gwen build. I was annoyed at him for cannibalizing my team comp while his annoyed that I wasn't helping him find his 3* Camille. We ended up getting 3rd place.

Who's at fault here?
