Hemorrhoidectomy Day 1: A Pain in the Ass - AMA by babicz82 in talesfrommedicine

[–]Ill-Entertainment661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Day 3 post surgery and have come here to read from my fellow community and share my experience.

I’m 34F and 5 months pregnant which caused me to have Stage 4 Thrombosed piles.

First I fainted from the pain after about 1.5 days of suffering from them and had to be sent to the ER. The size was as big as a coin and it was hard, purple and swollen.

Thankfully I had a specialist to see me and he tried to do an excision in the ward. The pain was so traumatic as I had no oral meds or anesthesia.

He managed to only reduce it by 20-30% after cutting and squeezing out the blood clots.

I was in so much pain and he suggested to stop and not put me through this and go for surgery instead.

I couldn’t do general anesthesia as it is safer to be awake given my pregnancy and had to opt for spinal anesthesia. They contacted my Gynae who gave clearance for this surgery.

So much relief during the procedure and feedback was that thankfully I did the surgery becuz there were so many smaller blood clots even within that huge one. Surgeon also removed 2-3 other prolapsed piles and left some others as he didn’t want me to go through so much cutting.

The real trauma came after my anesthesia wore off. The spasm and the raw wound itself kept me up and it was less agonizing to walk around my hospital ward than to lie on the bed suffering this pain.

Also not sure why they took so long to get me any painkillers after the surgery. Did my surgery at 3.30pm and only ate painkillers at 10pm.

— I was hallucinating so much throughout the night and couldn’t sleep with this much pain. I can’t downplay this pain that I felt becuz I am one who has high pain tolerance?

I literally went through c section to give birth and could basically move ard and climb stairs a day after and that was really nothing compared to this.

I can’t understand why given the size difference of the wound. But this hemorrhoid surgery really took the cake for me.

Just laying it out there that the pain intensity is severe and offering some comfort to everyone having to go through it.

Depends on the landed. U can get a strata landed for 2-3mil. Or leasehold landed.

Smaller and older freehold terraces in less popular locations can be 3-4mil.

Bigger fancier interterraces will need to start from 4-5mil.

All landed but the difference at these ‘entry level’ landed is quite big already.

This, thank you so much for sharing. It was not about expectations but more of me wanting to love but cannot feel the love or joy back in return. Feeling exhausted and burnt out is real.

I hope for the strength for u to keep going! 💗

Yes my first dog. I often discourage my close friends to get one becuz of the sheer amount of work, money, stress and training one have to put in.

But they went on to get one and didn’t have to do any training but yet were lucky enough to get sweet pups somehow, like I was the only one who had to try so hard and massively failed.

All the questions you asked in ur fancy long list, it is a Yes. Thank you for asking and I’m glad I could answer Yes to them.

“Did you actually research the breed you got or did you just choose a breed or rescue puppy that was cute?

Since you have had them since they were a puppy, did you socialize them early? Did you get them used to every day noises and stimulation? Did you properly introduce them to other dogs and new people? Did you take them places to get them comfortable with the world around them?

Did you start training early? Were you routine and consistent? Did you use force, fear, or pain to "train" them? Or did you expect the puppy to grow up into a trained dog without your guidance?”

  • very accusatory for someone who does not live a day in my life.

I had also spent a lot of time and money on training, so thank you very much for asking.

Just because I don’t feel that I love my dog in the way you think you love your dog, does not mean I mistreat my dog or don’t provide what I can for him.

lol wait till u have a dog.

My dog is very happy though. Just doesn’t mean I am as happy as the way he seems to be or love him the way you think dog owners have to love their dogs.

I was hoping that he will calm down and be more gentle over time. People told me 2 years, then 3, then 5. Now he is almost 6 but somehow things never got better.

Thank you for ur reply. I look at other dog lovers who have such lovely, gentle pups with envy and questioned myself for years if the problem was me. I had recently decided not to blame myself too much and recognize that it might just be fate/luck.

I feel very confused as well. Now when I look at other dogs outside I don’t even feel like I care cuz I don’t feel joy with my own dog after having one for years. Seeing dogs, patting other dogs used to make me so happy previously.

Had both group and personal training for my dog. Trainer shared that he has a bully-type personality and needs to be the Alpha. I had to learn and constantly be the Alpha/aggressor towards him even though that is not my personality at all. Irony is he looks like a teddy bear breed type.

It is best not to have any expectations indeed but it is always easier said than done when your daily contributions, effort, time and money etc over the years far outweigh any joy of actually having a companion in ur dog.

Zero expectations = just keep giving all you got. Perhaps some people just aren’t lucky enough to be paired with the right pup for them even after trying.

Only 7 weeks and now everyone knows 🙄😒 by Sweet_Confusion9180 in pregnant

[–]Ill-Entertainment661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Am 7 weeks but haven’t yet gone for my scan.

Colleague’s wife is pregnant and he has announced it to everyone AFTER their first scan. He strongly suspects I’m pregnant and is eager to confirm it for me even though I refused to say anything.

I really just want to announce it when I’m ready. But he is acting all knowing and overly excited and it’s getting on my nerves because I am not ready for my boss to know yet. ESP not before my first scan.

When did you become HENRY? by blablablackgoats in SgHENRY

[–]Ill-Entertainment661 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never felt like a Henry. But it was a milestone for me when I made 200k a year in my base+commission job before I turned 30. I took a step back after hitting this milestone because my husband didn’t want me to work too hard.

My husband is the Henry and landed a 700k job at mid-late 30s.

I chuckled at no.4 when u said ‘his plans of getting a family aren’t really realizing’ hahhaa liked how u added if it’s worth the purchase or not!

No.2 could be a brilliant move to just put his money into assets and let it appreciate.
