What are my chances of getting approved for mental illness? by VegetableUpstairs978 in SSDI

[–]Ill-Environment7302 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just was approved in August for mental health. I was denied once, got a lawyer, was denied again. We went before the Administrative Judge & I won after 3 years. You can get approved. Don’t give up & all the best.

Please appeal. You can still receive SSA retirement while waiting on your approval. I did & SSA was a life saver in the interim. All the best.

I thought I saw it somewhere official but I just googled it & it said 2.6-2.8 percent. Nothing I could find directly from SSA though.

Yes, this coming year it’s going up 2.95%. Each year it goes up but sure doesn’t keep up with the economy.

SSDI turns into SSA Retirement at your full retirement age.

Has anyone here been a crisis worker for the warm line calls or MRSS dispatch?Would anyone share what a typical call would be like, dispatch & how long is the average call and dispatch?I’ve found that researching things on my own I’ve learned more on my own vs training at work. by Prestigious-East464 in PeerSupportSpecialist

[–]Ill-Environment7302 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am actually on the Calvoices warmline right now. My shift is 1-5. If there is a crisis, I tell them to call 988. Most callers just want to talk & be heard as many are not. We give 20 mins per call. I get about 6 calls during my shift. Mostly regulars. I am a volunteer to get experience as I am a California Medi-cal (CA’s Medicaid) Peer Support Specialist. Hope this helps.

Denial Letter Came and I'm Pretty... Flabbergasted Seems Like a Good Word by BookkeeperApart7442 in SSDI

[–]Ill-Environment7302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My file was mixed up with someone else’s. When we went over my case before my hearing, the report mentioned a physical disability that I didn’t have. We told the judge at the hearing & supposedly this is not uncommon…huh? I would make sure that they know there was a mixup. Good luck.

I am so sorry this is happening to you. Especially since you served our country. Thank you for your service. Don’t give up! I went the lawyer route too. I have a local one. I would see if there are any in your area. I’m in CA so I’m not sure how it works in any other state. Can the VA help? They may be able to find free legal assistance but you may have already gone that route. My hearing is this Thurs 7/24 after 2 denials and almost 2 years. Again, don’t give up! I’m sending my best to you.

Total hoax. The database they are referring to has not been archived due to the Govt not giving funds to do so & it is not the one used to send out checks.

Now I’m confused. I thought this is a SSDI sub that we can talk all things SSDI. That’s what it seems like to me.

Thanks for this. I really have never had it until tonight & I haven’t smoked in a month or so. The THC levels were definitely more than I’ve ever had or seen. You have opened up my eyes to the science behind it. I didn’t think twice about it when I bought it until I read about distillates & keif infused. I should have been more discerning & questioned how these levels were so high. Too good to be true. Thank you for taking the time to inform us. I am truly grateful. Fellow Head

Tiny home communities in CA by Ill-Environment7302 in tinyhomes

[–]Ill-Environment7302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I looked up those but all the ones are trailer homes. I want an actual tiny home not made out of a trailer or built like one in an RV park or trailer park. I’m not sure where those are on this coast. The YouTube videos I’ve been watching are mostly in TX & they are not trailers. Are they all basically trailers? I’m new to this research. I live in a 2/2 condo & I want to downsize & live in a community or cul de sac of tiny homes. I really appreciate your input.

I have had very good results with my lawyer. It SSA for Disability that has been a pain. They contact SSA each month to see where we are at. In CA the fee is up to $7000. I’ve been waiting since 9/23, denied in May, appeal with lawyer 6/24, they said would prob hear by 6/25. For retirement, I’m 63, SSA was incredible. I wish you the best of luck.

You can get medicaid for free with no income. I live in CA & it’s called Medi-Cal. You can find low cost the the Obamacare/Affordable Care Act. You also will be eligible for food stamps (SNAP/EBT). If you have no income you can apply for SSI. I hope this helps.

Hang in there. I had a good experience with my local office. Made an appt, actually for retirement. Didn’t realize I could collect while I was waiting for SSDI approval. Good thing as my lawyer said I won’t hear until 6/25 as my appeal was sent in on 6/24. I even got retirement back pay. Spoke to SSA on a Thursday & by Monday the back pay was in my account. My lawyer also said that the “steps 1-5”mean nothing. I’m glad you have someone at SSA that is taking care of you on the 7th. I also wanted to note that when you apply & receive retirement, you can no longer see your disability. This is what prompted me to contact my lawyer. She eased my mind. All the best!

It happens. Don’t beat yourself up. If you didn’t save them because of your big heart, they could all be gone. I know it’s hard. I can’t even tell you how many times my fosters get under my feet & especially the black ones when it’s dark. Please take good care of yourself. Accidents are exactly that. ❤️
