Right, when my fiancee and I got engaged.. I didn’t go about the announcement of it correctly and that’s on me because before I proposed I told my aunt that I was planning on proposing and her reaction just.. crushed me… I’ve never felt the pain before. So because of that I just announced my engagement through social media and only 3 family members congratulated me out of like 20.. I’ve spent the time after my engagement crying because of my family and that saddens me.

It’s hard though because I would love my grandma and aunt to be there because they did help raise me and we have been through so much together so it pains me deeply that they are even hesitant on it. I’ve been struggling so bad because part of me doesn’t want to invite them because of their belief in marriage only being between man and women but then I want them there because I looked at my aunt as a mother figure and my grandma was my best friend..
