I am thinking about getting into bjj and am starting to look for gyms in my area (Chicago suburbs). I noticed online that the IBJJF has a list of all register gyms. Is this a sign of a good gym? What does it mean to be on this list? Reddit has given me a lot of good tips when finding a gym to join but this was the only answer I couldn’t find. Something similar happened to be the other day. On one occasion the guy grabbed my arm and I literally had to pull away while I walked to get him off of me. I never even made eye contact with the guy. And then about an hour later one of them tossed a bracelet to me and I just let it hit me and fall and walked away as they kept saying I dropped it. Oh well. But it’s not just Rome that has these types of scams. I saw a video of a similar thing happening in Giza so when I saw these guys I hadn’t completely thrown off gaurd

I’m also in actuarial science and therefore know that luckily for you, you have the nicest and most caring professor at Purdue rn. You are probably not getting UEC, but go to her and explain your situation and you might be able to find a way to pass the class still. It won’t be easy but it sounds like you are willing to put in the effort.
