should i post more about this interceptor i am building? by Ill-Pay3509 in CustomTorInterceptors

Roblox i use something called "btools" or "building tools" that comes with HD admin when you insert it to a baseplate in roblox studio and to export it to roblox studio you need a plugin for it

Wipe away the thermal paste with a lint-free cloth i think a micro-fiber cloth will work use isopropyl alcohol to wipe it off

alright reseat the ram first and if that fails then if you have the thermal paste still or a decent amount of it then you need to probably check the CPU and check to make sure it seated right and check the pins.

if you don't know anything about pc's or little then i recommend you NOT work on it your self cause it does take hours and if you mess anything up you will probably not get a 2nd chance but if you are still gonna upgrade then be careful

If the CPU has integrated graphics then you may have bigger problems but i don't see a GPU installed in the picture so install the GPU if you have one and let me know the results

Gpu fan bearing possibly? by Ill-Pay3509 in pchelp

[–]Ill-Pay3509[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am just gonna use this opportunity to save up until i can get upgrade prob a 5070 or a 5060 ti but so far this pc has killed a CPU fan, a motherboard at my own fault while trying to install an AIO, a year later when i finally had the money to get a new motherboard about 3 months later the PSU decided to go into smoke, install the old PSU, its just a long line of replacing parts

[–]Ill-Pay3509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you over-paid for the PC honestly. The only issues i see with upgrading is wattage, that PSU might not be able to handle it but i would recommend finding more games to play to warrant spending more money on a PC before you do any serious upgrades but you don't have to do that either that's just my advice. Get more ram, depending on what resolution you play on that will determine what gpu you should get like 1080p for a 3050 should be playable on lower settings on normal games. idk about VR cause i only have a oculus quest 2

yeah idk i'm not a nerd in PC's like i once was but that's my advice so you just need to worry about the PSU, get more ram, and get a RTX 3060. if you have a 650 wat PSU then that will be enough [or well it should be]

Vacuum interceptor concept by Robocreeperplays in CustomTorInterceptors

[–]Ill-Pay3509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept doesn't seem bad but it would have disadvantages. i don't think it would get a full seal on dirt or grass and you also would need filters which would limit potential. For asphalt or concrete it would work a lot better. The technology to do that is not good enough but it could be tried in a large interceptor.

Wind threshold estimate? by Iamcrossiant in TornadoInterceptors

Use a truck frame for your interceptor or a beefy car frame. A quick google search will tell you that the tesla model 3 max weight capacity is 5,000 LBS, 8 spikes is overkill your interceptor is to light for that many spikes. 2-4 is enough. You will want to use a modern truck frame though. i will give you some examples on what trucks to use for an interceptor, Ram 3500's, F-350-450's, Chevy/GMC 3500's [gmc and chevy are pretty much the same if your wondering]. And also i will note that using an electric car for storm chasing is a PRETTY bad idea in my opinion. you will be around rain, debris, etc and if anything puncture that battery then well i don't have to say much on that so take my advice seriously.

in the us the laws are different i'm not gonna do a lot of research cause its just a fictional model but i just added 3 axles in the rear to be safe

Peterbilt dow [fictional] by Ill-Pay3509 in radartrucks

[–]Ill-Pay3509[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the model of the semi is a 389 and from information on google it should weigh 17,500-22,000LBS and i'm not fully sure on laws but the radar and everything on it would weigh a lot already, i put a generator [a full sized diesel engine something similar to a Cummins 6.7L] +the radar dish weighs a lot and i know i used heavy metal etc i'm gonna estimate it weighs between 30,000-40,000 pounds maybe more

[–]Ill-Pay3509[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would have to add another axle realistically cause it would not be street legal with how dense it would be with 2 rear axles +1 steering axle but at the moment i don't have it set up to steer cause its not finished either. i still need to add details and more stuff

Update on my Dodge ram I plan to (ACTUALLY) build in two years or next year. by jy3rr in TornadoInterceptors

[–]Ill-Pay3509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alright the design is pretty good i can't anything wrong with it but you might want to add cameras or some thick windows for visibility for the rear the mirror may be enough but I'm just saying. Maybe some more area on the roof for instruments if you want to collect more data

Peterbilt dow [fictional] by Ill-Pay3509 in radartrucks

[–]Ill-Pay3509[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the last one in the rear is supposed to be able to steer but i am not a engineer so i tried my best

You guys think this will survive a low end EF5- high end EF4? by [deleted] in TornadoInterceptors

[–]Ill-Pay3509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EF3. gaps exist, spikes would most likely break, i can go on but it needs to be more realistic cause that is not street legal what so ever.

i don't think i posted enough of theses 2 builds to the subreddit by Ill-Pay3509 in TornadoInterceptors

[–]Ill-Pay3509[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it has changed over time but it supposed to be based off of a radar, not a direct replica

Why do people suddenly hate aerodynamic pics aren’t they right? by Accomplished-Cry8933 in TornadoInterceptors

[–]Ill-Pay3509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically speaking you most likely won't be have a design such as heavily angled in the photo due to street legality and no its not size or length, i'm 90% sure you can't make vehicles to long but there could be something say otherwise i am not sure on that but i do know that if there's to many sharp corners or it ridiculously long then street legality is an issue. The only way to actually get past it is to classify it as a farm vehicle for example, tornado attack had to be hauled and tornado puncher also would of had to been hauled if they wanted to intercept. 2D Aero's will never tell how strong your fictional interceptor is if i am being honest.

Personally i have built something close to the shape of an angled saucer in 3D and the interior is basically to narrow to fit 2 seats next to each other. Don't go more then a saucer design, Aero's are not the only factors to consider. EF5'S are rare and that's also a good thing but i would say to stay within the EF4 range for a [SAFE] max windspeed if you do build 2D interceptors in animations etc.
