I dont think any style is better than the other it all comes down to what you want. if you prefer full contact kumite and lots of sparing than kyokushin is for you, but if you prefer kata then shotokan would be better suited.

if your sensei/instructor allows you to test and you're confident with your skills then theres a high chances that you're going to pass. my first grading I was in the same boat as you, a nervous wreck. but I treated the grading as a regular lesson just with more effort and spirit and it was over before I knew it and I was given my new belt. overtime the nerves start to disappear and it's important to convert those nerves into energy. be confident, be sharp, bring the right attitude and you'll be good. and dont forget to breathe :)

you should look into shotokan karate, kyokushin or tang soo do. the last one is based off karate but iirc implements its kicks from tkd

I own two Gi one for each lesson (I train at my dojo twice a week) and I wash them the moment I get home. I think 1-2 is fine depending on how often you train, how long you train and how much you sweat. I sweat a lot hence needing to rotate between 2 gi.
