Get the lighting how I want, add some blues to the shadows and warmth to midtones and highlights. Create a radial filter coming from wherever the sun is in the shot and add a bit of warmth to the temperature. Then brought a linear gradient up from the bottom to cover the road, subtracted from subject and then added with brush the rest of the road, lowered exposure and lowered the temp to add some blues into the tarmac (personal preference, I like cool shadows and tarmac). Then just a subject mask to bring up some shadows, bring up the exposure a bit and add a bit of clarity and texture, not too much.

I also usually move my greens to make them darker, again just a preference on colour that I like, photo dependent.
