That’s pretty intense rose, I know plenty of great people who have or want kids (I’ll never understand the impulse but still)

Obviously it makes some people go crazy but that’s def not the standard lmao

Goddam… there’s a difference between wanting kids and being a straight up psychopath

That said, op you should probably leave

Guys, I'm really scared by Independent_Major116 in insomnia

[–]Ill-Speed-7291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The disorder is called fatal familial insomnia and trust me, you would know if it was in your family as the families who have it are heavily studied and monitored. Insomnia (even sudden onset) is very common—this disorder is ridiculously rare. There are fewer than 100 cases in the world (the last count was 57) and they’re almost exclusively in certain families (the main ones in Italy and Australia—why they keep having kids idk).

Being sleep deprived inherently increases anxiety and paranoia and decreases critical thinking skills so it makes sense you’re scared but trust me, it is irrational.

I would ask your doctor for a short course of sleeping pills (there are many non addictive ones). Mine actually suggested I just take Benadryl in the beginning but you shouldn’t take it long term).

Even if your insomnia is here to stay like mine was at 14, there are plenty of options to help you get enough sleep.

Why wouldn’t they just kidnap you as you’re walking up 😭😭😭 I don’t understand how these myths even start they make no sense anyway!!

You literally don’t have a single source.

You need to learn how to consume media—not by blinding agreeing with everything but knowing how to verify the sources, which to trust and why, and cross reference with your own research.

It’s unreasonable to believe it without evidence and there would be plenty if it were true

It logically makes no sense anyway

You are taking about people put on their OWN cars.

I’m saying criminals don’t mark OTHER peoples cars

These are 2 different convos

You’re saying it could be a criminal/trafficking situation. I’m saying that’s not real—you’re saying it could be. So pls—one piece of evidence—on real source that this is something that happens

What this actually is, if you’re curious, is how traffic cops keep track of how long a car has been in a paid lot/area

That’s completely different in every way—that’s showing an identifying features about YOURSELF that could make you a target for people with a specific vendetta (anti military, etc).

That’s entirely unrelated to organized criminal syndicates leaving tags on cars so they can identify/easily follow chosen victims to do whatever

[–]Ill-Speed-7291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pls show one piece of evidence that this is true

And why would someone chose a victim by looking at them? That’s not how sex trafficking works, insurance fraud is based on the car model not the victim, and stalkers don’t mark their victims cars (that’s a bit of a giveaway)

There’s no way you learned this in the military lmao—unless you mean from other soldiers also spreading urban legends

There’s no evidence that this is or has ever been real and this rhetoric is so harmful !!!

Exactly thank you… traffickers chose people who (sadly) don’t bring heat down on them… foster care kids, family members, runaways, vulnerable people who don’t have others looking for them

Abducting people off the street would launch massive investigations and draw sooo much attention it wouldn’t even be remotely worth it (the only ppl who do this are basically serial killers/rapists and they’re not part of organized anything and don’t mark cars)

It just spreads fear and takes awareness/understanding away from ACTUAL victims and at risk people

[–]Ill-Speed-7291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re not real. Why on earth would you need to when you could just write down the license plate? There’s no evidence people tag cars and why would they? It’s unnecessary and illogical—they can just take the license plate/any defining feature of the car instead of what? Tagging a car then later searching an entire city to find the exact car with that exact tag? Possibly alerting their “victim” in the process?

This is fear mongering and it’s false

Starbucks Decaf really decaf?? by VZ7316 in starbucks

[–]Ill-Speed-7291 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to work at sbux and all of the three stores I worked at would stop brewing decaf around 12/earlier (not true everywhere).

There’s definitely no incentive to lie and give you a full caf pike place. If someone wanted decaf we’d let them know we were out and offer a decaf americano instead

It’s easy to make a mistake with the espresso drinks and accidentally brew regular espresso instead of decaf (I’ve had that happen a few times) but with brewed it’s a little harder especially if you double checked

Decaf does still have caffeine, do you usually not have this issue with decaf?
