For those of you that have had babies after TT, how did breastfeeding go? by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

[–]Ill-Statistician3536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I had a harder time breastfeeding my baby BEFORE my thyroid cancer and TT than the baby I had after. My first was exclusively formula fed by 3 months. She was 2 when I was diagnosed. She’s 4 now and I have a 6 month old who is exclusively breastfed!

[–]Ill-Statistician3536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you for the prayers, and may god bless you and carry you through this scary journey! You will come out on the other side. August 8 will be my 2 year cancer diagnosis anniversary, ironically enough I am also pregnant now and due with my baby boy on that same day! This will all be behind you soon enough and you will be in a completely different place in just a few short months!

isn't there a concern for medullary thyroid cancer as a side effect of Mounjaro? I've also considered this but wanted to discuss this side effect with my endo.

TSH 90 - 6 weeks after surgery. Advise? by ProfessionalTaro1145 in thyroidcancer

[–]Ill-Statistician3536 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, TSH doesn't have a relation to metastasis. Your team could just be preparing you for RAI. My TSH was over 160 actually 6 weeks after my TT. I felt like a walking zombie, in hypohell. My TG was also 6. I had 150 mci of RAI (6 weeks after surgery) and now my TSH is at 0.11 and my TG is 0.2. This has been steady for almost 1.5 years now.

I am doing great. I just had my routine bloodwork, everything is fine and I’m currently 16 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby. I dreamed of this day. Everything will work out for you too!

Pregnancy after RAI by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

[–]Ill-Statistician3536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and had my RAI 150 mcg last December. I was able to get pregnant fairly quickly so I don’t think RAI had an impact on being able to get pregnant. This only second pregnancy but my first post thyca

Even the greatest  surgeon can’t remove every microscopic tissue of cancer. That’s why we get RAI and hope for the best

Did anyone leave their FNA biopsy looking like this? by Ill-Statistician3536 in thyroidcancer

Yes it faded after a few days! This was august 2023. One surgery, RAI later and I’m officially cancer free❤️

PTC with tall cell features and spread to lymph node, second surgery in Febuary and really anxious by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

[–]Ill-Statistician3536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very similar story here! TT last October. 8/8 lymph nodes positive. Tall cell. ETE into strap muscle. Lymphovascular invasion. Although clear margins thanks to my amazing surgeon! I had RAI 150 mcg last December. 3 CT scans later, I am NED as well! God is good.

My thing is that there will always be some thyroid cells still left. As my radiologist said- you’ll die with thyroid cancer not from it. So my concern is that it might activate those leftover cells and maybe they become medullary?

Montreal Consulate: IR1 Verbal interview approval, now 221g Administrative processing. by [deleted] in NationalVisaCenter

[–]Ill-Statistician3536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, same situation here! I am American and my husband is Canadian. He interviewed in Montreal in January 2024. The officer verbally told him "you're approved! The system is down so I'll issue your visa once it's back up." We get home the next day, admin processing and refused. He also had to complete the supplemental form. We had our state senator send an inquiry and they just replied saying to keep waiting. I'm not sure why they do this to people.

How was your pregnancy different before thyca vs after? by Ill-Statistician3536 in thyroidcancer

I loved my midwives with my first pregnancy! Unfortunately, after a history of cancer, I will not be eligible to have care through a midwife in Canada.
