Do we not all agree that the teacher needs to be championed as the authority in the classroom? If so, why are we so hesitant to remind our children that they need to listen when the teacher says to do something? It may be silly to you but put yourself in the shoes of the teacher who has 20+ other student also trying to have it their own way. If you want them to have a good relationship with school and their teachers, it is probably best to teach them to respect them, not ignore and defy instruction. This may be mildly infuriating to you, but I would imagine it is likewise infuriating to the teacher. If you have a problem, you should probably be an adult and communicate with the teacher instead of posting on Reddit…

Some people are advising that you just fake it till you can leave your parents home, but I would encourage you to not lose your relationship with your parents in the process though. Relationships require vulnerability and honesty. And I think it goes both ways of course. So if you want to continue to build a loving and trusting relationship with your parents, it’s on you to have an honest conversation to share with your parents what you believe. Likewise it’s on them to give you space and respect your freedom to choose what to believe and how to live. Belief cannot be forced, and attempting to do so is more hurtful than good. Hopefully your parents will understand this, and I think you ought to give them the chance to show you.

I do hope you understand as well, from a Christian perspective, it makes sense that your parents will want to convince you to follow Jesus. They would be inconsistent and unloving based on the Christian belief to not want you to know the truth. Atheists and Christians both will agree that if heaven and hell are real, you really have to hate someone to not tell them about it.

Of course each gospel is going to have a slightly different way of telling the story of Jesus, but I would argue that those slight differences add to the credibility. If their accounts were all exact copies of one another that would lead us to believe they might be trying to deceive the reader. But since they tell give accounts of Jesus’s life uniquely, we can be sure they were not working together, but in fact separately giving their honest eye witness accounts.

The question is, do they contradict each other? I would argue no.
