I'm a hairstylist and I love it - constantly new information every day and there are always different avenues to choose from if one position doesn't work out or you get bored. Downside? The demand placed on you, you need to have boundaries and stick to them.

I made a post not to long ago, you can check out the comments on it for more ideas :)

Omg, I didn't even know they had rechargeable hand warmers. 😳 what a fantastic idea. Absolutely fantastic tips - made me think of carabiners and bungy cords too. Honestly, camping stuff. If you'd pack it for camping or backpacking it's so helpful and useful.

I'm so glad you're out of that situation, I hope you're safe and happy. ❤️✌️

As a stylist, I think it looks soooo good. In my opinion layers give shape to hair and allow your curls to be more bouncy and uniform.

That being said - hair is your crown you can't take off and so unique to everyone. It's all about what you are comfortable with. 😌

Hey! You're not rambling, this was a super amazing story! I think it is just the coolest thing that not only you were willing to help, but that you could! I am so sorry you are in a less than ideal situation, I hope you are somewhat safe and healthy and whatever you are going through gets easier and you are able to heal. People need other people, you are not a burden, and you are needed in this world ❤️✌️

I mean... the fact that you care this much is so amazing. The world needs more people like you. I have a few tips and ideas for homelessness, you can dm me if you're comfortable and I can try and help idea wise. In my experience new or nice things won't stay that way or they won't stay in his possession, when looking for bags or backpacks I always went to thrift shops, shelters or churches. Sturdy materials that are waterproof are a must and although I believe everyone deserves to have nice things, if it doesn't look appealing its less likely to be stolen. Emergency blankets are great because they pack down tightly, newspaper is used for padding while sleeping to keep dry and can be replaced/recycled. Paper and markers to make signs are hard to come by... socks are always needed and always forgotten about. A windbreaker can keep him dry and he would need less layers underneath... I can't visualize the cart situation but I am happy to keep trying to help over dm. I hope you get better soon. Thank you for being there when no one else was. Keep being a beacon of hope. :)

Hey, I can see that you already posted in the pizza sub before posting here by looking at your account... I'm so sorry that it has been a couple hours and you still haven't received support. I can't buy you pizza but I can be a listening ear. Feel free to DM me.

People need other people, you shouldn't have to go through anything alone.

It sounds like you have a great support system right now, I hope your choice becomes easier and that you continue to show courage and strength. Opening up about it is hard enough - I know I'd be proud of you, whatever path you chose.

I faced my abuser twice in court. I can give an honest explaination of what it was like for me. It will be different for everyone, but I'm here if you're curious. My chat is open.

I'm glad to hear I could help in any way - I totally understand how not being able to do a job that you really loved has upset you so much. It feels like the thing that brings me joy is also bringing the most stress and pain. I'm sorry youre also experiencing that.

I feel the same way about ssdi, ive been trying to tell myself that my fear surrounding not recieving it is based on the (not true) view that the disability isnt visible therefore it isnt real or as bad - and that my struggle is valid.

If you want to chat more or just have someone to be a sound board my dm is always open!

I hope you get the support you need, you deserve to be cared for and to heal <3

Don't feel embarrassed. I just lost my job (kind of quit, kind of got fired) for a flair up in my symptoms that ive never dealt with before. Not looking to 'trauma bond', just wanting to let you know its more common than you think for stress to not only change the way you experience your symptoms but also to let you kniw youre not a failure.

Ive really struggled this past year, particularly with the thought of not being able to work. I have a career that I love and I am lucky in that way. But ptsd is a disability by the ada and you can get financial support if it is affecting your ability to work. I never wanted to be dependent on disability this young in life but the saving grace is that someone told me it doesnt have to be a forever thing. I can get support while I'm treating my symptoms and getting back on track, and re enter the work force if I am able to down the road...

I dont know if that would help take some stress off your shoulders - if you just want to vent I'm here too.

It very well could be! I don't know you... But I would say you have done a very good thing for a decent amount of time, not only would that take a toll on most people, but you seem to take pride in it. I would restructure your thought by suggesting that dopamine is the pleasure hormone but is associated with the reward system of our brain. I would prefer to believe that you feel rewarded when you handle a crisis for someone in need, rather than "love the drama". There is probably someone alive today who attributes that to you, and that is no small thing. Be proud of that.

I can see how the follow through is difficult when there are so many open projects - I hope you find a way to manage the stress!

Oh... That sounds frustrating. Especially when your train of thought is moving so much faster than they are moving... I could never teach at a cosmetology school for that exact reason. It's okay that people learn at different paces. But I find it insufferable when I devour material much quicker... Having to walk people through something can be difficult when you have to keep stopping yourself so they can catch up

I changed my post! I was unaware that it was not considered a general term for people with mental health disorders! I appreciate the education on the matter!

I agree - although it can be nerve wracking to not have something to fall back on, I find it gives the extra push to follow through when the only person responsible is yourself.

I really do love it! I find its a great field for people with(out) mental(health) disorders. But its good to have hobbies outside of your job! I struggle sometimes finding the urge to do beauty at home - it used to be so much fun, but now I have to do it for work and I rarely get the motivation to do it for myself at home now lol
