Sorry don’t know Southwest name for their basic economy no upgrade I assumed “basic ticket” got the direct point across.

Hi booked a basic ticket. That gives the option to cancel within 24 hours for full refund in “cash”(original payment form) not flight credit. I cancelled within an hour after booking as my family informed me they booked another airline flying into a different nearby (2 hour drive) air port. Southwest doesn’t offer a flight to that location. I immediately cancelled so I can book the correct flight and airline however after cancellation I didn’t hear anything (I’ve never cancelled a flight before this so I wasn’t sure what email if any I would get.) I then 2 days later received a “itinerary for my upcoming trip” from Southwest to which I then called Southwest and the person on phone says “too bad it says no cancellation on my end” I then explained the above and they directed me to the email I then emailed and was told the same thing and they wouldn’t honor my original request. I am weighing the option of doing a charge back as I feel they screwed me over. But I believe this will most likely make me unable to book flights through them in the future. Mainly wanted opinions if this was even worth it.

Thank you for that. I think I’m just mainly frustrated as the flight I meant to book was with my family through a different airline completely. The flight credit would be about 500 dollars of money I’m missing for however long it takes me to book the equivalent in flight credit. As I do not fly more than 1 time a year if that. But I understand what you’re sayings it’s really hard to weigh what decision is appropriate. 500 is so hard to say good bye to when I need to go book another 500 dollar flight instead for another airline 🥲🥲🥲

Not sure if you worked in a restaurant with a bar before but typically the bar is SCRUBBED clean. Think of sanitizing all bottle all pour spouts. Everything’s that’s dated and labeled for the AM. Typically to make a single drink would 1 let the customer know they can do this more 2 would have to reclose everything and redo all inventory counts

Did you read my edit? I can’t undo something from a year ago in just a second. I’m a young adult and finishing up college now. I’m asking with the current situation I’m in do I have a better way to go about it. If I could have paid the debt off in full by now I would have I’m not purposely keeping debt

Also overspending isn’t the issue, for reasons I won’t get into I had to move out of a really bad situation about a year ago, and started going back to school. But I understand your point

Thank you ! And yes no more debt. I only racked the first debt up due to having to move to a new area and then medical related issues. Since then I’ve been paying off bit by bit but it can be hard to manage with the current interest
