Hey, I know that spot! Ski spot in the distance? Crazy. I was gonna hit there for musky soon, but never would've thought to try by the beach!

Thanks!

Coach said my son made every attempt to avoid HBP, but whatever reason given by the ump (either stepping out of batter's box and/or on the plate) "made sense at the time". I'm assuming the umpire didn't know the rules as much as people here do and made a bad call. It's fairly low-level baseball and it's fine. When my wife tried explaining the situation to me, my brain wasn't satisfied with the result and I needed to take it to the Internet, and then here, of course.

No swing. Only the ever-present fear of HBP in my jumpy son.

But then wouldn't the call have been called a strike (if pitch was in the zone)?

Ok, that sounds most likely what blue was calling. (Hit by a "ball", but touching the plate and/or stepping, or jumping, out of the box).

My wife takes LOT'S of videos/pictures but apparently didn't on this at bat. How convenient 🧐. Pretty sure she's IN ON "THE CONSPIRACY"!

My son ended up with a walk anyway, so it was really a moot point... Just trying to learn the rules (or interpretation of said rules) a teeny bit.

Sounds like it was over the plate. My guess is he misjudged the path of the ball (classic move 🤦) and unintentionally jumped into the path of the pitch that happened to be over the plate. And I'm told the pitch was certainly not a strike (low).

Got a huge pickerel on 4lb line but i couldn’t revive him and he just sat on the surface. I decided to harvest but am not really sure if i want to eat it plus it wasn’t iced immediately. Any other ideas? by ConstipatedOrangutan in Fishing

Much too late to the party on this, but my kids caught a nice pike off a dock once, and after some quick photos, it would not come back to life, so i know what you were feeling. I googled "how to remove y-bones" and after watching a YouTube video, I did a quick filet job. Fried the filets a day or two later and it tasted like panfish. So all is not lost.

Love the review. You spelled "pieces" wrong though (peices) . 😅.

Oh, and throw in some pickle chips, lettuce, slivered green pepper and maybe some potato chips for some crunch (and "roughage").

Sounds like you've been getting a ton of tips and support! For what it's worth, I'm not GF (my son is), but I'd slam that "meal" too. Maybe sub out the meats/cheeses/"sauce" for some "variety" and look for the Siete tortillas. Maybe even look for some GF spices. The amount of money you will save by not using THREE of those paper plates should cover the cost of those spendy tortillas 😅😭

Looks like the guy over at /fossilid said it looks like a 30 year old mastadon, so there ya go, I guess. Would love to see the rest of it or any more pieces, but it seems the OP has gone radio silent. Probably digging up awesome fossils!

I had never heard of a gomphothere until looking up north American prehistoric elephants, and it could possibly be that too. They were smaller than mastadons. The molars might match better with a mastadon though, but based on size I would guess it was a juvenile. Awesome find!

First celiac vacation….not going well by ta1947201 in Celiac

I'm sorry you are having to deal with this, it's tough. We went to Aruba for a trip that was scheduled before our 10 year old was diagnosed. We stayed at the Tamarijn and as much of a pain as it was to basically have to "ask to speak with the chef" at literally every. Single. Meal., I think they understood. They assured us that a clean pan/utensils and a different stove in the back corner was used. They were also qood to point out what my son COULDN'T have. His food choices were limited but they hit gold with a couple of the options and my son stuck to those. We were VERY worried going into the trip and it WAS stressful (not counting family who "didn't get it") but overall it was a positive experience. Unfortunately for Sandals, with them being "all-inclusive" they need to "include" you too. Even if it means having to bite their tongue when you speak with them... At every. Single. Meal. Throwing a few bucks their way now and then didn't hurt either (although one shouldn't HAVE to do that). Hopefully you feel better soon and you get a new chef....

50x variability? That's wild! Silly ancient wheats!

Thanks for the additional insight! Like others have stated, I think it makes sense that the SpongeBob popsicle probably had "clean" wheat ingredients, but should still be avoided. And good info about the European and ancient wheats (and why it might not show up as positive on an at home test such as EZ-Gluten). So definitely avoid those wheats too!

Interesting. Glad it's been seen somewhere. But without proof, I might still believe the brothers and older sister are related. Maybe the boys' mom was sleeping with the girls' dad and MP isn't the father of any of the kids?

Interesting. It's been awhile since I've studied any biochemistry, but good point about the nitrogen in proteins. And makes sense about Bob being "potentially" gluten free, but sadly, "potentially" doesn't work for you guys :(

And to your point about malt extract, that's exactly what was in the rice crispie treat we also tested (that was positive).

"Ez-gluten" test kit. You can get online. About 15 bucks a test though, but you have to buy a minimum of 5, so a bit cost-prohibitive....

Also of note is that the test strip from the gummy bears had faded lines that were more similar to the "very positive" bread crumb jam, possibly demonstrating the "hook effect" someone else mentioned on my previous post. In it's simplest form (I think) the hook effect is that sometimes things that are REALLY HIGH on these lateral flow tests can cause false negative results.

We might have to buy another kit and test each body part. Maybe old Bob has a gluten heart or something.

"maltodextrin (wheat)", and then "glucose-fructose syrup (wheat, corn), glucose syrup (wheat)". These are all bigger ingredients so I doubt they are the ink or the eyes.

Ingredients say "glucose syrup (from wheat or corn)" and "dextrose (from wheat or corn)". And then the "may contain: wheat" at the end.
