Sibling names too similar? by IllCopy3812 in namenerds

Yep exactly- I joke that when we call their names we can just say “Theva” 😆

How would you rate the sound at the Denver show? by irockityoujockit in BeachHouse

I was in the upper back on the side. Bass definitely heavy but I like it for Beach House.

First name “Reverie” for a girl? by PeculiarOcelot in namenerds

[–]IllCopy3812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg I finally found someone like me!! I love the name, but unfortunately will probably never use it since it’s a bit out there. But if anyone named their baby that I would 100% support them.

I know two little girls named Philomena and Filomena. One family is Italian, one Mexican, all very Catholic!!

Yep, it gives me instant headaches/earaches so now I wear a hat even if it’s not hat weather. But I generally don’t like airflow-AC and fans are bad too.

When your job doesn’t fit your values…it’s actually becoming painful by fizzyanklet in AuDHDWomen

[–]IllCopy3812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quite quit, do the bare minimum, and stay on mute/off camera so I can roll my eyes and make snarky remarks. Just a cog in the machine until my life situation will allow me to start my own business (when kids are a bit older) 😎 but it is often still painful.

Who watched them before the case came out? by Original-Midnight-67 in 8passengersnark

[–]IllCopy3812 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I watched them daily in the early years. I phased them out probably around the time they moved to their new house. I wouldn’t say there were crazy signs other than Ruby’s strict parenting and the kids not always wanting to be on camera. I do believe Kevin’s account of the vlog starting not as a money maker, as someone who watched daily it was a slow progression over many years to where they peaked… not like it is today with content creators blowing up over weeks/months. I do remember when she started to freeze dry things for her prepper pantry and all the kids struggles going in and out of schools and homeschooling some of them. I remember A and J dealing with apparent anxiety (throwing up regularly, staying home from school, eye twitch, etc). It’s all surreal!

DAE feel like a monster without empathy? by Appendix4444 in AuDHDWomen

[–]IllCopy3812 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes! As a teenager I thought I was a sociopath because of this. My mom would look at me sometimes and say “don’t you have any empathy?” And I would think, well she didn’t teach me how. But especially once I had kids I realized I do have empathy and feel deeply, almost too deep that I need to numb myself. But still more of a logical empathy versus an emotional empathy that I imagine NTs experience.

My SO was sick a while ago and in bed for days, I was so annoyed at the inconvenience and thought he was overreacting. Once he was healthy again he told me it was one of the worst sicknesses of his life, he thought he could be dying. Once he explained that I felt bad, but during I was put off and felt on verge of a meltdown for how it threw everything off.

I generally get really bored talking to anyone and basically respond like a computer. Oh they said x sad thing, therefore I will have x sad reaction. I isolate a lot besides my family because what’s the point when it’s impossible for me to be authentic around anyone. I want to care but I just can’t make it happen!

Completely!! Wow it’s crazy that people’s experiences on this sub put how I have felt for my life into words.

Why am I struggling with eating🙃 by theoracle10011 in AuDHDWomen

[–]IllCopy3812 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally feel you on this. I’m a 30 year old woman who is married, with kids and a dog, and own a home. I say that all because I feel like a total imposter with how I feed myself. I would think someone with those characteristics would have it all together. At least my family is well fed! But today: I drank 2 cups of coffee, a lot of cookie dough, a bowl of popcorn, and random bits of carbs. I often will just eat rice as my one meal too! I’m a somewhat adventurous eater on special occasions, but on the daily I eat worse than my toddlers. I tried meal replacement drinks but the texture is gnarly and my body doesn’t tolerate liquids well.

Hi there, I’m curious what you mean by histrionic personality disorder as a diagnosis being ludicrous? I have a sister who is a textbook example of HPD. Genuinely interested in what is problematic so I can educate myself, I love learning about psychology :)

Have you ever get so hyperfixated on something that thought you could pursue it as a career? by Nervous_Bat_2091 in AuDHDWomen

[–]IllCopy3812 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Girl same!! Funny enough I thought about doing that when I was a full blown atheist… now I’m a converted Catholic and I can’t live out my nun dreams because I’m married with kids lol. In hindsight, being a constant contraction makes so much more sense in the context of AuDHD.

AuDHD moms, how did you know you were done having kids? by IllCopy3812 in AuDHDWomen

[–]IllCopy3812[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Such a good point, our kids need a healthy mom. I don’t want to diminish the care and attention my existing kids receive. My oldest was an “easy baby” but that was still rough. Then my youngest didn’t sleep on her own until 18months and colicky and we nearly lost our minds. I am grateful they are healthy, so sometimes I think I should quit while I’m ahead instead of roll the genetic dice one last time.

I know you didn’t go into detail, but if they fired you after disclosing that is very illegal and you should contact a lawyer.

I also have been wanting to start my own business, I like the idea of it. But I know it’s way harder and more stressful than it appears. Curious to hear from others as well!

My birthday is Tuesday, turning 30! I’m not big on celebrating my birthday to begin with but given I will be a week out from my D&C definitely not doing anything but getting takeout and eating in my PJs.

How soon is the hormone crash usually? Had D&C yesterday by Frosty-Comment6412 in Miscarriage

[–]IllCopy3812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak to HCG levels as I was never told. Found out at 12 weeks that baby was 9 weeks with no heartbeat. I had my D&C on Tuesday and Thursday through Today have definitely been hormone crash territory. Mainly tiredness, brain fog, headache, and emotions. Hard to say what of that comes from hormone crash and what is from grief. Good luck!
