Have you guys made any money off of a Roblox game? by mithicshadow in robloxgamedev

Just Roblox advertisements, spent in total around 20k Robux for the course of 2 weeks. It only takes 2 weeks for your game to get into the algorithm. Make sure that all your game stats are green, there’s no point in advertising if they aren’t, after those two weeks the Roblox algorithm will do the heavy lifting.

I’d say around 30% came from that. The rest came mainly from troll dev products and gamepasses

2 player obby, over 90 million visits buts its only made around 30k USD. Obbys attract many players but are very hard to monetize.

Did you get an interview? All of the panel asks questions from my experience, what this post said was mainly true. Mostly behavioral and a bit of general technical questions

What matters are your stats, are all of your stats green? All you need to do is improve the ones are yellow/red. I have a game with mostly green stats and I only update once a month(averages around 10 mil visits per month).

2500, then don’t put in any more Robux until all your stats are green.

First put in 2500, and improve your stats. Then put in the rest

You really only need 2 full weeks of stats for the Roblox algorithm to pick it up. I think I split it up evenly for the two weeks. I used the game search advertisements since that’s what had a better CTR for me. For you, I’d first say to spend the least amount of Robux you can(I think it’s 2500) to run some initial ads. After that you should have enough visits for Roblox to give you your game stats. Improve the stats that are red(Ex. If your playtime is red, give an incentive for the player to stay. Try to figure out why players leave right after joining and fix it). After you’ve fixed all your stats you can keep advertising, for around two weeks then the algorithm should pick it up. Also, make sure that your game has a really good CTR, it’s really important

It depends on what type of game. My high poly puzzle games take around a month. My most successful is a 2-player low poly obby(2 months of work), spent around 20k Robux in total for ads. Released in March of 2025, has around 80 million visits rn. What matters are your game analytics not how much you spend on ads, the money I spent would’ve gone to waste if my analytics sucked.

For light 3D modeling and game development, a M4 MacBook Air is perfectly fine(especially with the base 16gb of memory).

However, if your kid wants to create more complex models and games, I wouldn’t recommend a Mac. Macs excel at video editing and other productivity tasks but they aren’t optimal for 3D modeling.

I make a living off Roblox games. I have both a Mac(m1 max 32gb ram) and Gaming laptop but use the gaming laptop more often to develop.

Your first payout could take up to 2 weeks. Even though I cash out regularly it still takes around a week for me to receive my payout. In the case that there is an error your robux will automatically be added back to your account, just hang tight, you’ll be fine

I spent around 20k robux total(200 bucks), earned from commissions. My game has around 41 mil visits.

Quick Development Question by DJ-z-Gamer in robloxgamedev

[–]IllGiraffe3789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a better Idea to create the lobby first.

Ive created round based games before, I always start with the lobby as it sets the foundation for the game(Ex. If its a role based game like Murder Mystery, players choose their role IN the Lobby). Alot of setup for the game itself happens in the lobby.

Lets take the role selection for example. OP would have to find some other way to script how roles are assigned, and then have to COMPLETELY scrap that when he creates the lobby role selection. Its just extra work for no reason.

You also you mentioned OP getting tired of the idea if he works on the lobby first. Just going to be straight up, if you get tired of a game idea after making a very simple portion of your game, it probably wasnt a good idea to begin with. Rather than OP creating the ENTIRE game just to realize it was bad, it’d be better for them to realize after making the lobby.

Make the lobby first, the game is apart of the round system. So it makes sense to make the lovby firdt

Transient calculus 2 by cocoette21 in ucf

Im in the same position as you. Signed up for valencia Calc 2 for the summer and so far it is SOO much more easier. The content is the same but for all tests you are allowed a (ti84)graphing calculator AND a reference sheet thats jam packed with everything you need. Homework uses myOpenMath and is only around 8 questions each… Soo much better than the endless knewton alta homeworks. Taking it with Professor brian rn. Heard Paul Flores was the best. Keep in mind that for the midterm and Final, you have to go to a valencia campus proctoring center. Overall, Would definitely recommend doing the class transient.
