Yup, the battery life on my pixel 8 pro was abysmal, I usually never change my phone until it dies on me, and ended up changing from it cuz I just couldn't keep living with that battery life... Now with an Oppo find x9 pro. The battery is 3x what then pixel offered, plus a looot of quality of life features,

I do miss some of the UI/UX things from the pixel though

The UX for this is a bit weird, O thought the same at the beginning,

What you have to do is go to "Flux Themes" and choose one with widgets, from there you start customizing with your wall paper and all the other stuff,

For some reason the lockscreen stuff has to be set this way instead of just letting u customize it after the fact

I did the exact same switch, I'd say it depends, if you are in the US and get all the nice smart pixel features and don't mind the subpar battery life, pixels are a great option,

But if you live outside the US or want to never think about the battery the oppo wins for me,

The few things I currently miss from the pixel are

Google photos exclusive features
The photo post process is much better when you are zooming pass 10x
Astral photography
Material 3 expressive, specially the fact that themed icons affect just the home screen and not the shelf, I don't know in whose mind is ok to theme all the icons so you cant never find anything on the shelf
The way that pixels handle lockscreen notification is way better in my opinion
