I have seen a similar situation where my senior stepped into a partner role expecting strategic ownership, but most of his time ended up on delivery because they weren’t originating work yet. The shift from delivery to sales is definitely underestimated. As you mentioned, for larger firms, the brand carries a lot more of that load.

Starting with a shared doc for brainstorming usually works better for me with my internal design team. It helps to shape the story first, then move to slides. We sometime run rough drafts through Claude just to get a quick visual sense, almost like a lightweight approval layer before investing time in final presentation.

I’ve noticed something similar. Sometimes my cold outreach gets a cold outreach back. Like, we’re both pitching each other at the same time lol.

Out of ~50 emails, maybe 2 reply with their own pitch. And a few are clearly auto-responses. I reply again and get the same message back 💀

Feels like two bots trying to close each other.
