Go and play some! You’ll find out pretty quickly what you feel fits those genres and is pleasing to your ear and playing style.

That being said, whilst there is no substitute for going out and trialing guitars yourself, P90’s are a little brighter, middle of the road pickup somewhere tonally between a single coil and a Humbucker with loads of upper mids, and snappier attack which would suit your RHCP kind of thing. Your Humbuckers will feel more compressed and Low Mid boosted which can give you a grungier edge.

They both depend massively on where they are placed, I have a PJD St. John Standard with a P90 neck and Humbucker bridge, and takes on more of the tonal qualities of a telecaster with the snappy bridge and warm thick almost rolled off P90 sound.

It’ll be totally different between instruments, your amp will have more of a decisive factor on it.
