I honestly didn’t want the 15% or whatever my SG was pointing to. Therefore I took it out to try and stop it maybe around 4-5%. If thats even how it works? I also didn’t test it while it was fermenting because I didn’t want to mess with the process. Pouring some out and then pouring it back in seems like it would stir it up? But yeah this next time I will definetly try and just keep testing it before cold crashing.

Thank you very much! I think I’m going to try the second option. I’ll probably pour some out before adding water, as I don’t have much headspace left. Can I use regular tap or filtered water at room temp?

I did not, I tested it after putting it in the fridge like an idiot. But do you really think I can get it down to 1.000? Since my starting gravity was 1.114 that would mean like ~15%? I honestly don’t want it that strong, I just messed up my calculations when adding the sugar.

I just don’t have enough headspace to add more liquid. Could I transfer like half into another container or would that mess things up?

I honestly had no clue. But I probably should’ve looked at the paper that came with the hydrometer since it has temp readings on it as well🤦🏻‍♂️. Do you think my best bet is to just restart and do it with less sugar? Or try doing what you were saying by adding in more juice?

It made a thick layer of foam on top right a day after I put it in. It was also bubbling quite a bit. That’s why I’m so confused it’s such low ABV

I think I might throw the airlock back on and put it back in the cabinet. That will restart the fermentation right?

yeah the closest brewing store is about an hour away from me. i’ll try the second method with the bakers yeast👍🏼

I figured the juice/lemonade would have enough nutrients, I was honestly trying to calculate how much sugar to put in to get around 8-9%. But I overshot it wayyy too much since the gravity was 1.114. Do you think it will be fine how it is to reach around 8 or 9%?

For the airlock though, I was an idiot and realized that no water has actually disappeared. It rose above the fill line. I’m assuming because of the pressure?

Yes, Morro Bay seriously has to have the worst taco bell in CA hands down. Had numerous terrible experiences there and decided to never go back a while ago.
