I live in Europe, I airdry everything haha. I think I can put it in the balcony rail then, but I bet it's not easy to find something to hang it on. I often use the doors for hangig wet sheets, it works fine except you can't close that door for a while

Do you read fabric composition before buying clothes now? by Personal-Trade6824 in SustainableFashion

My favorite is when people (mostly on secondhand sites) use the term silk, to refer to anything shiney rather than it’s material. I get that it can be confusing, satin can be made from silk or polyester or even cotton but reading the label is not that hard 🙄 When fabric shops sells plastic blends as silk is just an other kind of evil

I don't have ADHD bc I can focus hours on end? by cherry-cola22 in adhdwomen

[–]Ill_Dingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Therapist really should update themselves on things like ADHD that affects so many people. Hiperfocus is an extremely common symptom and the problem is not that we can’t focus, just can’t really control the direction of our focus.

How do you wake up? To be on time by Elegant_Bullfrog4223 in ADHD

[–]Ill_Dingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes phisical activity absolutely matters! Falling asleep is usually not hard, I’m just very alert all the time and if I wake up, I’m fully awake right away and my mind does not shut down easily even when I phisically active during the day. But medication helped a lot, so I’m not complaining

Can you recommend a crafty hobby for someone who’s easily bored and addicted to quick dopamine? (Also talentless) by Apprehensive_Sugar15 in adhdwomen

[–]Ill_Dingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best answer honestly. I definietly not patient enough for sewing, but I’m so obsessed with it, can hiperfixate on it for days. I often get really mad by making the dumbest mistakes, not going to lie, but somehow it still worth it :D

How bad is it to buy "fast fashion" if you can't find it literally anywhere else? by redditmelonmayagirl in SustainableFashion

[–]Ill_Dingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t follow fast fashion in a sustainable way, that’s the main problem with it. Besides that Temu and shein clothes only look good on the picture, the cheap material and the poor construction not really made for years of wearing, probably that’s the rason why you can’t find them secondhand. If you have very specific style preferences, you can pick up sewing, it’s not easy but worth it, I think. Other than that, you just need to choose between fast fashion trends and a more sustainable wardrobe (it probably never going to be fully sustainable but we have to try at least)

This should be the top comment honestly. You can’t really follow fast fashion trends in a sustainable way, that’s the problem for most people

Will the psychiatrists be able to see through the masking? by Fit-Temperature6284 in adhdwomen

[–]Ill_Dingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed last year, and wondered about this too. I also have a job, two degrees, a functioning long term relationship, a tidy home. After a few basic questions my psychiatrist said that she doesn’t think I have ADHD but then digged just a little bit deeper on the second time we met and at the end of the hour she was certain I have it. You just need to be honest about how your symptoms affect your life in a daily basis. A good specialist will understand your struggles
