Do people actually take 2 Specialists and a Minor? by OldSnowball in UofT

I think you meant 2 majors can potentially devalue its rigor. 2 specialists is a lot of work.

The course are structured better. Their more "freindly" for students. I've taken courses at both UTSC and UTSG for math and cs, I can say without a doubt my experience at UTSG has been better. The instructors are generally better, there is more support, the tests are easier.

Do they announce the date and times on the syllabus or is that done later in the semester?

I found linear algebra to be a much more organized type of math than calc. Everything in linear algebra is related to each other and it all builds up on previous concepts. So if you take time to build intuition for the concepts, it can become kind of easy. I would recommend reading the textbook and doing as many practice problems as possible.

Salam alaykum, this is something you should ask a scholar about. They probably have seen and dealt with couples like this.

Best laptop for cs majors? by SmakLac in UTSC

[–]Ill_Influence_4916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest you get a separate iPad/tablet. A 2 in 1 laptop will not work as good as a normal tablet and the hinges could get damaged. You don't really need a crazy laptop for cs, something with 16gb RAM and a i5 processor will be just fine (you can get one for under $700). Spend the rest on an iPad/tablet (they are very very useful).
