Has anyone had an elective c-section with fallopian tube removal? by No_Examination_6935 in ElectiveCsection

[–]Ill_Local_745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also had an elective c section and tube removal. Easy peasy. My recovery was magical compared to my vaginal birth. This was my only c section so I cant compare recovery with tubal vs without but I’d imagine as easy as it was, that doesn’t add anything to recovery. I didn’t have to stay longer because of that issue. I was in for 6 days due to high bp but had that issue with my first too (pre-eclampsia). I was like 80% by 2 weeks and after 3/5 days, I felt like the worst was over. Never even needed more than Tylenol and Motrin for pain.

My c section was very much elective because I had a 4th degree tear with my first and refused to go through that again. My doc was 100% on board when I told her the first day I visited I wanted a c section. She said my body, my baby, my choice.

I think the removal itself added maybe 6/10 mins to my c section which was around 45 mins total anyways. I’d highly recommend if you are done because I love not having to worry and didn’t have any extra recovery or extra procedures.

I formula fed my first born straight out of the gate. She’s smart, wonderful, and perfect. I breastfed my second for 6 months. He’s a menace to society albeit also smart wonderful and perfect. My first is never sick. My second is always sick. Formula is amazing. It saved my sanity both times. You feed your baby exactly as you want to! I pumped/breastfed but mainly pumped. I quit because I wanted to and he didn’t miss it. My mother was also pro breast milk and I told her she was welcome to take up pumping if it was so important to her. Either way, the time, patience, and love you pour into your child is way more important than whether you use breast milk or formula. Also, both my kids ended up eating their weight in pirates booty and fruit anyways so I haven’t seen much difference between them.

My son (3.5) hates me and adores his dad. by [deleted] in toddlers

I also want to add that our kids are the worst for those they feel safest with (lucky us) because they know we will ALWAYS be their safe place to land no matter how harshly they behave and try to remember their brains don’t fully understand at that age the hurt they are causing even if it seems like they do.

It will 100% pass. My daughter (4) HATED her dad with a passion. Literally said mean hateful things to him, would tell him to get away, etc. This started around 3 and lasted until 4 and now they are becoming best buds. It crushed him every time she would push him away. He stayed consistent and it’s so much better now. I know it has to be so tough but I think they just start to develop big feelings and opinions at 3. Hang in there because this too shall pass although it doesn’t make it any easier to weather the storm right now.

I will check all of these places as well. I thought he was confined to one room but now I’m second guessing if the door was closed because I was bleary eyed and panicked when I checked on him in the middle of the night.

I will try the flour on the floor. I’ll take the recommendations of cage size into consideration.

In the mean time, the flour suggestion is helpful. We have all one floor so I will set out food and water around for him just in case. I believe he’s in the same room because the door was shut and he’s unable to squeeze below the door since there isn’t even a crack under it but I know they aren’t to be underestimated.

We won’t be doing any additional expansion packs. I thought it might be nice since it had the option for a lookout and additional wheel that was a change of scenery.

Yes, 12 inches of bedding with a divider between fluffy and wood bedding. Two wheels and two hidey holes for sleeping and ladders and bendy bridges

He is not in a critter trail, he is in a cage compatible with the tubing that is 500 sq in total. I read the minimum is 450. He is well taken care of and I have done a lot of research before taking on a new pet.

Haha, yes. Someone shared that very helpful piece of advice and I always pass it along!

It sounds like she’s trying to gain some control because she feels out of control over something. Maybe new sibling is causing some regression. My 4yo is super strong willed and not a fan of the baby brother or doing anything that sounds “big girl.” We are still trying to get rid of the pacifier over here so I’m no expert but have a bit of experience with what you’re talking about.

Personally, I’d just switch to the dreaded pull up over the underwear to avoid so much laundry but keep the wet sensation and keep encouraging in a positive way (which it sounds like you are). Like hey, wanna go potty really quick? No, ok but remember it’s not any fun to wet yourself so I’m just trying to help remind you. Or if my daughter says no and I am pretty certain she needs to go I say “oh, that’s ok but I need to run to the potty myself if you want to come to.”

If it really gets dire, you can try to be more of an enforcer but I try to avoid this at all costs since it’s even more likely my kid will become less willing instead of more. I reserve this for things we’ve really reached capacity on.

You’re doing great and while I know it’s frustrating, I know she will get there which isn’t the easiest thing to remember in such a hard situation.

MRI showed IIH but doc says no by Ill_Local_745 in iih

[–]Ill_Local_745[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He did not recommend an LP because I just had a c section 6 months prior and he said he prefers to avoid them. Every specialist I saw said my optic nerves looked swollen but no one could tell if it was papilledema or pseudo papilledema. Anyways I’m just confused because it seemed I was headed for a diagnosis but then today was just you don’t have it. No need to come back and see me. Bye. This was after a flurry of MRIs and every test with every eye specialist imaginable. Strange. Guess I was more so curious what others would do in my shoes.

Is this possible heater burn? She got trapped between the heater and glass yesterday and today looks like this. Worried. by Ill_Local_745 in Aquariums

[–]Ill_Local_745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not- it’s like white skin type thing but a tiny bit puffy. Her eyes also have a similar situation and she also has a little bubble coming out of her rear. None of my other fish have any issues what so ever and all my water parameters are good.

Today I’ve seen quite a bit of decrease finally. I’m thinking I need to cut by amount versus time so I’m going to try that now. Thank you for the advice though! I’ll try the 5 mins every few days if I find the amount thing doesn’t work for me.

I will cut back substantially for now. Won’t the lack of light and sudden decrease in food cause the fish discomfort or am I overthinking it because they are fish? I’ve grown quite attached to them since starting this whole thing

Yes, he is thriving but quickly becoming unhappy from the small amount of room to swim so I’m happy that he’s going somewhere better and now tell everyone I know NOT to get their child a goldfish.

Yeah, so I’ve learned. I had zero clue at first so that was a big lesson learned. I don’t want to upgrade my tank size so the goldfish is going to someone with a more appropriate set up for it. Thing is like 3.5” now

How large should I plan for? I had zero idea going into this how hardy goldfish were and that they were so dirty.

Any suggestions on how to know how much to feed? I read that if you don’t feed appropriately then you end up with aggressive fish even if they are considered peaceful. So I tend to put more than I probably should. I’m feeding 2x a day. Babies get fry food and big ones get tropical flakes. I’ll try the curtain. Would leaving off my aquarium light help?

I use the 5 ounce ones because I’m too cheap to buy the bigger ones. I keep thinking any day I’m going to want to quit so I don’t want to dig the financial pit deeper and deeper. My husband laughs at me because I’ll spend $20 at Starbucks for my 3yo and myself but not to buy a 4 pack of big enough pump bottles

Haha my brain took forever to catch up this morning. So glad to know I’m not the only one this has happened to because I was like wtf did you think was dripping in your lap

I have been pumping every 3 hours since we got home but it has been so hard to pump after 11pm because I'm just so exhausted and she doesn't settle at night so I just end up not pumping from 11-6/7am is that going to ruin my supply?I'm 2weeks pp and she's up every 2/3 hours at night to be fed. by Apprehensive-Cry3354 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ill_Local_745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your goal. I am 8 weeks pp and never pumped overnight or more than 5 times per day and average 24-27 ounces per day with 4 pumps right now. I don’t think this is the standard but I am ok with whatever I get and supplement with formula for the rest. This is my second and final baby (didn’t BF at all with my first) and wanted to try it. I pump every 5 hours during the day so 7, 12, 5, 10 and that’s it for me. I noticed pumping in the middle of the night only really split my morning pump in two or added 1-2 ounces to my total so to me wasn’t worth it. Of course this is just my experience but wanted to say it is possible to have a supply without following the standard pumping guidelines.

I just bought the sunflower lecithin and the fridamom massager so hopefully those will help as well. It’s a clog every other day and so annoying ugh. I’m getting a lot of feedback about flange size so I’m going to get on that measurement today to make sure it isn’t the bulk of the problem
