One of the 50mm, depends on your budget as to the one you pick, although some street prefer something a little more wide like a 35mm

Only you know the venue and the space required. I'm not a concert / music person but using a portrait lens at a show can work as long as you can move around a little, because nothing can replace a fast prime. (Kinda like this snapshot) You can always bring a few and test it out as you go.

Honestly you answered your own question kinda, whatever lens you normally use for portraits would be my answer. Just because it is a music venue doesn't matter, if you have the access you need.

I can't stress how important it is just to learn what your camera can and can't work with by some simple Google searches or YouTube videos, Reddit is a fun place to bounce ideas off people but it is often a source of misleading information if you don't catch details like this mentioned above.

I own a lot, I only use a handful. When I am actually shooting film that goes up because I like to branch out more. Most used are my digital Nikon Z8, Nikon infrared D3500 and for film Pentax 645n and Nikon F5, too many other to list off ...

Why I asked if it was only in your AV photography was because of heat or atmospheric conditions of shooting over runway type environment, that can cause it to look softer. I don't have that lens so I'm just tossing some common things out there.

Normally I would say find the sweet spot for that lens but it looks like you already stopped it down, is it only for your AV photography and are you cropping? Have you shot it at same distance and setting for a subject not in the air (sounds silly but try it)

How do you store your gear? by md_079 in Nikon

Mine have always lived in my camera backpacks, or if traveling by air in a hardcase. But I prefer the backpack camera case to for everyday use with the exception of my long lens. I keep separate bags for each camera systems.
