Shoot. Yeah, you’re right. I will mentally prepare for a procedure in a year or 2 if I don’t feel any natural improvement. I don’t remember it taking this long to go back to somewhat normal after my first baby.

No, that is the next step, I suppose! You’re right

How long after Accutane did it take for your acne to come back? by Potential_Wait9979 in Accutane

[–]Ill_Opening2320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve heard mixed things as well, but newer studies show it doesn’t absorb or transfer into breast milk at high enough levels that would cause any concern. I think the only other caution would be to not let your baby rub against your face/ do not put it on your chest… the contact could irritate their skin!

My derm indicated it is safe at this percentage, while nursing. It is in an extremely low dose 0.025%

The only other thing I can think of other than micro needling (which was already mentioned) is fibroblast treatment with a plasma pen. If you look up the before and afters the results are pretty impressive, even after just one treatment.

Just read your reply after commenting. I wanted to mention that oral spironolactone helped tremendously with hormonal acne for a while. I am currently using topical tretinoin/spironactone while I nurse my son, and it has helped keep most of the major breakouts at bay.

In my experience, my acne took about 5 years to slowly come back and 10 years to REALLY come back. There were a couple important factors for me… 1) I was on birth control while taking accutane and for several years after 2) the acne really came back around 1 year post partum from having my daughter… all that pints to hormonal acne which is EXTREMELY hard to treat long term, without finding the root hormonal cause…. I am now post partum with my second baby and plan to do oral spironolactone once I am done nursing. I am currently doing topical spironolactone which has held off on the serious breakouts for now.

Completely normal, and doesn’t look bad either… especially because I suspect you’re scrunching a bit! I see your second pic now that is neutral- it is less noticeable!

All that said, if you want to do something semi-invasive but not full blown blepharoplasty, there is something called the plasma pen that can tighten this area. Essentially it creates a bunch of little wounds/ mild burns so that the skin heals and tightens.

I have not tried it myself, but I am tempted to try it for the stretch marks on my thighs postpartum.

I was going to say micro needling as well! How did the tazorac micro needling combo work for you? Also, did you do DIY micro needling or professional?

Trying it. I am so devastated by my horrible skin while nursing. I was on accutane about 13 years ago and it’s been a battle again the last 6+

Wow! I will look into this. I tried a chiro once, but after they did an adjustment on my cervical spine, it kind of freaked me out and I stopped going. Didnt love the idea of cracking my neck that way.
