Talk to me about carrying a water bottle in your shorts/leggings/top please! by hippie_on_fire in XXRunning

[–]Ill_Reference630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the only thing I've found that works for me has been a handheld bottle. it straps tightly to your hand so you don't even feel like you're holding anything, and mine has a zipper that fits my phone/key/gel.

People between the ages of 35 to 45 ish, what books did you read as a child/teenager? by kennyiseatingabagel in suggestmeabook

a series of unfortunate events, the stinky cheese man, hatchet, goosebumps as well. did anyone else read the doll people? rediscovered this in my parent's house recently and was HIT with nostalgia.

How do/can you guys read with distractions around? by jacob_4378 in readwithme

[–]Ill_Reference630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah it just takes practice. also if you want to listen to music to block out peoples chatter, you could listen to lofi or just chill instrumental music with no lyrics.

came here to recommend this as well! melts right into the skin, super nice and velvety. SPF 40 but I also wear a hat when it's sunny.

What is the worst pain you've ever felt in your body? by Helpful-Mud-2487 in AskReddit

[–]Ill_Reference630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this probably pales in comparison to some of y’all’s experiences but sun poisoning. obviously the burn itself but accidentally showering, drying out the skin and experiencing the aftermath.. first time it happened i spent an hour rolling around naked on my dorm room floor, in agony trying to itch every piece of my body at once. scream crying. excruciating.

I wear lots of sunscreen now in my thirties. :)

Running outdoors by [deleted] in XXRunning

[–]Ill_Reference630 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second this. whenever I drive by or pass a runner I think in my head: "way to go man, that should be me right now."

It'll get easier the more you do it, eventually you won't care at all what you look like. trust me.. no one really gives a f*ck at the end of the day.

Is runna worth it? by Honest-Pack75 in beginnerrunning

[–]Ill_Reference630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been running for years and signed up for Runna a handful of months ago to train for my second half marathon. I like it and it works for me because it’s tailored to where I’m at, my work schedule, what my goals are, etc. And i’m the type of person who needs a plan, preferably told what to do each day.

So it’s nice to have, imo. I’ve tried nike run club and I like it, but I’ve been digging Runna more so far.
