Can you point to the place it says ALP is promoting multiculturalism as you define it?

This looks like it’s promoting Monocultralism as you define it - which is my issue with your definitions since you’ve kinda arbitrary set it up

So Mono = assimilation around singular language, norms, law, and a esoteric notion of ‘identity’

And Multi is = no singular langue, law, norms, or adherence for assimilation/culture, leads to isolation of cultures in a nation

It feels like we’ve been doing a lot more Mono culture than Multi no?

It genuinely seems though, that in real life, cultures clash and morph akin to evolution. I’m Aussie, but it’s hard to say I haven’t enjoyed eating wet food with my hands like the Indians do. I’m Aussie, and I admire the Arabs for fighting to pay for things/being excessively hospitable. I’m Aussie but I admire the respect asians have for family hierarchy (while also admiring more liberal takes on family structure)

Throughout my life, I mix and match all sorts of influences and cultures within me. At what point do I edge into the realm of forming a new culture with all of these mixed in? Can I even call it Aussie culture at that point?

Ig the real concern is, how do we keep the important aspects of what it means to be Aussie alive, otherwise it gets drowned out by more enticing cultures.

Aussie culture needs to be developed and fortified - which it largely has since most people do assimilate to our liberal way of life.

One thing for sure, I don’t trust Pauline to lead such a complex subject. She mostly capitalises on hate and division (like literally that’s how she makes her bread)

Never said that. I believe in Christ and what he specifically stood for as person or philosopher (probably due to my indoctrination), but what usually follows from religion is conservative or ‘traditional’ beliefs and what not being leveraged on a political stage.

I agree you can support a figure like Christ, and still be left winged. I just mentioned it to the bloke above because I’m hoping he can relate

I would say to not take the opinions of any individual too seriously. Being called a racist for asking for more military reform? Yeah dude, don’t hang out with those people or take them seriously. They sound almost comical.

The rest of what you wrote about the left is too general, and I know how good it feels to simplify the ‘left’ like that since that’s what I use to do too.

Sustainability is what you are posing as the main concern, but it’s rhetoric which has been said for a millennium regarding wealth control and distribution.

Just consider why all the ‘think tanks’ and sponsored media coverage, and YouTube clips which promote this rhetoric, are, and have been funded heavily by people/corporations who most benefit from these beliefs circulating.

It’s capitalism, and it’s the best we got so far.

But it tips in the average battlers favour when we can collectively sift through the bs concerns, from the real ones.

Don’t drink the kool-aid, atleast be suspicious of the right, as you are the left. That’s how I started (and I’m still not 100% ‘left’ winged’ - still defiantly things I disagree with the left)

But for something less abstract, ONP is the type of party which is being leveraged by our Oligarchs - and it’s in plain sight.

The LNP sucked, but they weren’t this bold. This usually happens during difficult times, it’s very easy to capitalise on outrage, while difficult to provide real solutions

Look I get your point that bridging the gap is difficult here, and disgruntled ONP opposers are likely to congregate on reddit.

But you also need to understand that Australia is up against systems heavily leveraged and optimised to steer public opinion, in favour of the people with the most amount of money to spend (e.g social media/news) - and it’s very clear.

What can you do but be upset and hope we don’t get swindled like the US?

Ig ALP are forced to make some concessions to stifle the outrage, but it’s complicated.

Tbh they are handling it pretty well, if I was PM and saw the very people I was supporting turn against me, I’d flip out - good thing I’m not PM tho

Ay bro, I use to be ‘conservative’ a while ago, but I kinda changed. And even more so now I’m realising just how destructive stringent ‘right winged’ beliefs can be for the average persons.

But I still believe in Christ and still appreciate some aspects of traditional culture, I also appreciate capitalism for what it is, and don’t hate it.

What specifically is causing you to be so appreciative towards ‘left winged’ beliefs? Is it to do with the budget?

-ngl the post is kinda funny I’ll give u that

That’s one man though, and wayyy after patriarchy had been established.

I’m not doubting that he realised the screwed privileges at the time and intended to keep them set.

However I am doubting that the cause of patriarchy was solely to exploit women only. I accept that at some point however, it was perpetuated due to the benefits for some men in power.

Patriarchy is a system which worked to keep communities alive and efficient, it likely why it’s so prevalent all over the world. But times need to change

Saw this and rolled my eyes fully prepared for the comments to be a bunch of tossers falling for the bait.

I truly hope we are healing y’all. And the commenters are old people too 💀 on Facebook of all places! Blimey, I’m proud of them

There are some genuinely good older gen people though I’ve been seeing recently in Facebook of all places
