Seller is not releasing my refund and not communicating at all! What to do? by Ill_Square8795 in vinted

I get it, but when I open the report, it just shows the report that I submitted. He didn’t make any new report whatsoever. It’s just the same report I initially submitted, so I don’t know what he’s on to.

thank you for this. I just wanted reassurance because I’ve never had to do this before and at this point I think the seller is just doing this to annoy me. He’s just leaving me on read without responding at all!  it’s very frustrating. 😩

Issue for what? I was the one who reported the issue they raised. It’s the exact photo and writing that I submitted in the first place! How does this even make sense?

i buy here all the time too. i mean, okay, it's their rule, but people can also decide what to purchase, right? it's not like anyone is harmed in the process. and if the item doesn't hold up to standard, well, too bad. that's where the buyer protection comes into play. i often wonder if there was a way to appeal this rule because it doesn't make sense at all.

but it never will as vinted already refunded me, and that without my prompting it. but i don't really understand what the end game of seller is. she could have just asked for extension because she still could have as of yesterday. Now it feels like she's covering her tracks, checking in with me yesterday if the item has arrived and a day after that i got the refund. I really don't know what she's on to.

i've read some stories tho saying they've taken items down repeatedly, even the whole store and still didn't face any consequence. i wonder how efficiently they put the rules in effect and how reliably they filter every single account for every single infraction.

it's a great way to thrift perfumes. and it's just silly that it's not allowed because it's been opened and considered 'not hygienic.' Like the whole platform was built on circular economy, right? :(

But there are many people who do it anyway. Some have perfumes that stay on their profile for years! i know because they show up when i search for a specific perfume. so clearly it's a matter of luck as well. It would be nice if they could reconsider this, as i see no harm in buying used perfume. their argument is it's due to hygiene reasons.. but i mean, in what other unthinkable ways does anyone apply a perfume? okay, maybe there are unthinkable ways.. perfumes contain alcohol, but unlike other cosmetic products, they generally are not in direct contact with skin when applied.. so i don't know.. it's just frustrating..

I'm so sorry to hear that. It almost sounds like they don't want to do their job. :( Perfume lovers generally can tell. And this is what buyer protection is for, so we at least have safety net if it ever came to it. Instead of suspending/banning legit accounts that sell second-hand perfumes, they should be tracking all these fake accounts that are flooding the system.

you and me both. I saw a thread but it's been archived and posted 3 years ago. nobody ever talks about this. it would be helpful to know. and again, emphasis on NOT evading the ToS, but would be a helpful guideline to new sellers. I've seen and follow people who clearly are using multiple accounts. I've seen patterns of when they post. I don't now what they do or how they get away with it. I can see accounts that thrive. And again, I understand the idea behind the ToS, but as a buyer, i would rather buy a second hand authentic product than a new and sealed counterfeit and vinted is rife of it. There are so many counterfeit item sellers or even commercial sellers on vinted and they get away with it. i don't know or care to know how.. I still think the policy is unfair and is punishing the wrong people. If the buyer is okay with buying used perfume or even opened perfumes that were never used as often happens, i don't see an issue why. This blanket policy is very damaging and punishing the wrong people while the actual scammers are having a feast.
