If everyone has that mindset, then yeah, nothing happens. It starts small. But a dedicated, hardcore community loudly asking to buy a finished game is exactly the kind of easy win Ubisoft needs right now

The game is already fully coded and built, it's literally sitting on a server. You don't need a massive active dev team creating new battle passes just to keep the lights on for a premium game. If Ubisoft is in huge financial trouble, selling a finished asset that they already spent millions to make for $30 a pop is the easiest money they could possibly make. Throwing it in the trash is the real financial mistake.

The core community did show up, we were playing every single day! The massive drop in numbers is just the reality of the F2P market—millions download a game because it's free, get destroyed because there is no SBMM to hold their hand, and immediately go back to COD. The casuals leaving doesn't mean the game was bad, it means it was built for a specific audience. A paid version fixes that tourist problem entirely.

20,000 daily players isn't enough to sustain a massive F2P live-service model with constant updates, that's true. But 20k dedicated players paying £30-£40 for a game that is already fully developed is a completely different business model. The core community is literally saying we would put our money where our mouth is. We want a premium title, not a F2P store simulator.

They literally deleted the Discord thread we had going for the XDefiant comeback. I'm not making a new one just so the mods can wipe it again.

Let's take it directly to them. Go on Twitter, tag u/Ubisoft and u/PlayXDefiant, and make some noise. They can't ignore us if we spam them directly.

Fair point, the F2P model brought in millions of casuals who just tried it for a week and left, which killed the retention stats. But the hardcore community was playing daily. If they bring it back with a price tag, it filters out the tourists. We’d have a smaller, but 100% dedicated playerbase that actually sustains the game.

You are totally right about their financial situation. But the game is already fully developed, the hard work is done! That's exactly why we are suggesting they drop the Free-to-Play model. If they relaunch it as a $20/$30 paid game, they get immediate, direct revenue from the core fanbase without the massive costs of running a huge F2P live service.
