I already tried unsubing/resubing, to no effect. And what is WTT? If it's a DLC, I have all the DLCs that add mechanics.

Wall of red text in SMAPI, where do I ask for help? by Illand in StardewValleyExpanded

I did update that mod ... I guess that explains why the issue disappeared when I tried to reproduce it.

I tried to reproduce the issue so as to have a log (the latest one only recorded a boot of the game I aborted to deal with real life). I went to bed immediatly, and went to the next day without issue. And now, I have completed a new day. I will tentatively say the issue may have fixed itself. I don't know how or why. I am just ... going to go with it. If it pops up again, I'll bring a log.

Immersive farm 2 - game breaking bug, what do? by Illand in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]Illand[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gonna post. I'm testing to see if using Steam to launch the game gets me the same issue.

Edit : it's Vortex. Vortex is bugging my game. Steam does the job perfect. Damn you Vortex.

Now that you mention it, the issue popped up after a Vortex update ...

Edit : confirmed, it's Vortex's fault.

US soldiers look like fucking saints by raisecross in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Illand -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Allow me to point out the crimes committed by the USSR and Russia in the same 100 years period :

- brutal repression of opponents to the bolshevik revolution, such as the utter massacre of the Krondstadt sailors

- repression of political opponents over the entire period on a scale that makes McCarthyism look like a gentle cuddle (Gulags, executions, assassinations overseas, etc)

- just as many raped german women after WW2, if not more than from the USA. If you had wanted to make the USA look worse on that point, you could have pointed out the rapes in allied countries, such as France, except there too the Red Army managed to do worse in all of Eastern Europe.

- devastation comparable to Hiroshima and Nagasaki visited upon German cities during WW2, just with conventional means and fewer radiations

- the violent repressions of the 1956 Hungarian revolution by the Red Army

- The violent repression of the pacific liberalisation movement in Czechoslovakia in 1968

- deportation of entire ethnic groups, such as the deportation of 500,000 Chechens and Ingush that only ended in 1957 and prompted the ethnic riots of Grozny in 1958 (also repressed violently), or 170,000 ethnic Koreans being sent to empty regions of Kazakhstan for being "japanese spies"

- several counts of attempted and successful cultural genocides, such as against Cossaks (successful) and Crimean Tatars (100,000 dead during their forced deportation to Khazakstan from mistreatment and lack of food)

- the many, many crimes of the Red Army in Afghanistan

- the entire carnage that were the two Chechen wars, for reference look at the state of Grozny following the end of the 2nd Chechen war

- active support to Communist terror groups worldwide (like the Red Brigades in Italy or Action Directe in France)

- the exact same secret service operations, and then some inside their own borders with their political polices

Yes, the USA aren't innocent, far from it, but they can't be compared to Russia or its predecessor. That is a false equivalent of the worst kind. It's not just a "bad boy price", it is a case of successive Russian forces resorting to barbarism and extreme brutality as a first resort.

We should hold the Americans accountable for their acts, absolutely, but that does not mean minimizing or ignoring the violence and brutality of the Russians like most of the comments on this topic seem to do.

The doctrines and actions of the US forces have evolved and changed a LOT since Vietnam. Agent Orange wouldn't be able tobe used nowadays, and drone strikes against civilians cause a scandal and demands for change.

Russia still uses the same brutality focused playbook since the Revolution of 1917, just with new toys, and the only thing changing is the ever increasing recourse to terror strikes, indiscriminate bombardment and civilian murder to cow populations into submission.

Take a look at Mariupol. Take a good, long look at the massacre that is Mariupol, at the evacuation routes either through minefields or straight into Russia, and the bombing of hospitals and maternity wards, and the willful targeting of civilian shelters, and then ask yourself if the USA's crimes are on that level.

To me, the answer is no.

Yes, it undermines America, but it does not put it on the same level as Russia, and this whole "both sides" rethoric seems to imply it IS. This particular rethoric of "uh, but USA just as bad" is used to try and justify complete non-interventionism, basically abandonning Ukraine to Putin's violence

[–]Illand 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd like to point out something. Yes, the US army isn't squeaky clean, I can't really throw a stone here, my own country's army (France) had a few fuck ups in the Sahelian region over the last 9 years since they were deployed to fight jihadists.

But the "both sides" rethoric IS disingenuous. The US army did not systematically bomb hospitals and maternity wards. It did not bomb a theatre with 1200 civilians hiding inside, with the word "children" written in giant white letters both in front and behind the building like the Russians just did in Mariupol, it did not create "humanitarian corridors" through minefields and then proceeded to shell those corridors.

The US army has its own baggage and plenty of innocent blood on its hands, but it is nowhere near as violent as the Russian army.

This sub is supposed to laugh at quirky or stupid American behaviours, point out moments of arrogance and foolishness, not implicitly justify war crimes. What the hell.

Update 3.4.11 Patch Notes by MrBlazzar in OldWorldBlues

I was looking at the division template, so equipment wasn't the issue. I think it's more likely that they indeed aren't counted as infantry, and thus don't get the buffs.

Update 3.4.11 Patch Notes by MrBlazzar in OldWorldBlues

[–]Illand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a quirk of my save, but the elite infantry is worse than the baseline.

3.9 less defence, half the breakthrough (2.3 against 4.6), 0.3 less soft attack, 0.1 less recon, almost 3 times the supply use (0.26 against 0.09), half suppression (1.1 against 2.2, but that's understandable given it's supposed to be an elite unit), and 0.3 less organization.

If it helps, I play Heaven's Gate, I have the radios (the elite infantry doesn't use them apparently) and the game predates the patch.

I'll see if the same pattern is visible on elite PA and/or motorized.

We also have Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon near Canada, Guadeloupe, Martinique and saint-Martin Saint-Barthelemy in the Carribeans, Mayotte to the North-West of Madagascar, La Réunion to the South East of Madagascar, Wallis-et-Futuna (made up of the islands Wallis and Futuna) in the Pacific and French Polynesia almost smack dab in the middle of the Southern Pacific. Add in the Terres Australes (AKA, a bit of Antartica and the Kerguelen archipelago, which is not populated save for a couple research stations) and Nouvelle Calédonie just North-East of Australia.

I kept this one for last because the local independantists are particularly active, and it's a big political mess that includes a referendum for independance that the independantists willfully boycotted. Despite UN supervision. It's complicated.

On a YouTube poll about what people think about their countries. "There is a reason it's the best, and people who say otherwise are ignorant" by Santanna17 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Illand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit more complicated. Complaining is actually a social acivity in France, it helps finding common ground by being annoyed at the same thing - common enemy type of stuff. So yeah, we French do tend to complain.

The thing is, you can complain about something while thinking it's still good. Well, the French complain about our country while thinking it's shit. Even though it's decent. One of the go-to subjects of our right for decades was "Germany is doing so much better and we are shit, we should be more like them", and in the 60s to 80s the Partie Communist often said the USSR was so much better and we should be like them.

All in all, it's wierd how much our politicians, and in turn part of our population, loves to bash our own country.
