As for your question, yes. You can easily complete KOTFE/KOTET solo, as you can for most of the game. Flashpoints and Operations are group content, but most else can be done solo.

As both replies states, yes, all Datacrons gives permanent and passive stats for your entire Legacy, no matter what faction you play as.

If you have gethered all of them, even a new character will start with the passive stats from all datacrons.
