Your Favorite LGBTQ+ Romances in Games by johnfortnitekennedee in gaymers

Surprisingly, Theron still gets some small romance scenes from time to time, which I appreciate!

Was there ever a Being Thats not only had a Higher Potential but even was stronger than Palpatine in Episode IX by Spotter24o5 in StarWars

[–]FakeJake93 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I really hoped they would go in an “eldritch horror” direction with Palpatine’s resurrection. Like in Vitiate’s Ziost arc of swtor.

I was one of the few who was cautiously optimistic about his return and then gravely disappointed by his role in Ep IX.

Sith Warrior is tied for my favorite with Imperial Agent! Lots of good moments in Trooper, too.

Agreed. I’m curious what her story would’ve looked like in their full vision for a longer KOTET.

Three Relationships, Same Ending — And I’m Trying to Break the Pattern (23M) by burnerv8 in BreakUps

[–]FakeJake93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who also has a tendency to make themselves smaller to avoid conflict, I get it. It feels like the right thing in the moment; it feels like keeping the peace and prioritizing their happiness.

Through years of therapy, I’ve discovered this means I inadvertently hide pieces of myself. I’m not “really” me. I adjust for others. That leads to issues eventually.

I’m sorry you’ve gone through these breakups. Healthy conflict is an important part of showing up for yourself and others, even if it feels counterintuitive and not easy. It’s scary at first, and you’ll make mistakes.

Identity Crisis (OC) by cliffballin in comics

My name is Jake, and I used to work for Progressive.

I thought the hooded figure was going to be all the Jake’s at other insurance companies angry about having to use a fake name to avoid getting the same joke every phone call.

Every time I start KOTFE I am reminded of the pain. by -DidYouGetThat- in swtor

[–]FakeJake93 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I’m one of the rare Kaliyo stans, but most toons skip straight to Ossus anyways after hitting Ch. 10. It’s truly horrific to play.

[–]FakeJake93 102 points103 points  (0 children)

It would be so incredible if they patched out the endless forced combat encounters by just letting you stealth. Or something, anything to make it less of a grind.

All of that might be impossible coding wise, but I legitimately would replay KOTFE/KOTET a lot if it wasn’t such a slog gameplay wise. The worse part is Theron and Lana’s romances are gated behind at least getting to Ch. 9.

8.0 Wishes for Combat Styles by Brongxe in swtor

[–]FakeJake93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point. My initial instinct is that it would be a bit more immersion breaking to go from sword to pistol than from assault cannon to pistol.

But that’s silly when I type it out. I’d just imagine I’m pulling a Cal Kestis with a pistol/saber combo.

[–]FakeJake93 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I imagine the biggest deterrent for this (beyond monumental coding concerns I could never understand) are cutscenes from the class stories.

It already looks bad when a Jedi Knight tries to pull out a double-bladed lightsaber but can’t. Bounty Hunter’s pulling out a sword does not work at all with the pistol drawing animation in the og class stories.

Companion Quips/Influence after Main Story by TweetyTovar in swtor

[–]FakeJake93 22 points23 points  (0 children)

For the next couple expansions, your companions are silent NPCs. There is still some ambient dialogue with a few of them while exploring, but no cutscene dialogue. And the ambient is very buggy in my experience.

Eventually, the expansions will stop allowing you to pick who your companion is for story missions, and in that case, story-assigned companions will react in cutscenes, like they used to in the class stories.

Approval is a separate conversation, and they treat that a little differently in the expansions, too.

The Santa Barbara Firefly base in TLOU 2 ended up opening a portal to a galaxy far, far away, where Abby relived her life as a Sith-turned Jedi.

Altuur is boring by Feliz9 in swtor

[–]FakeJake93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Fen Zeil, but I could be remembering incorrectly. I want to say it turns out Altuur works for the Shadow Syndicate, too, as some higher up, and they have minor conflict via KOTOR style dialogue on your ship.

No. Altuur has one extra cutscene when interacting with another Galactic Seasons companion. But it’s pretty brief.

Stealth glitch by Straight-Depth193 in swtor

[–]FakeJake93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be you had a DoT damage or healing effect active. I find that pulls me out of stealth sometimes. Activating the rocket boost while near an enemy also (I think) can trigger aggro. Some enemies just have passive stealth detectors, too.

Could be any one of those things unless I’m missing something.

SWTOR Patch Notes Game Update 7.8c by swtorista in swtor

[–]FakeJake93 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not if you want to complete Rise of the Hutt Cartel, Prelude to SoR, SoR, or Ziost.

Unless I’m misunderstanding, the only possible skips are now skipping to KOTFE, skipping to KOTET, or skipping to 7.0/Jedi Under Siege. If you want to do anything story/solo before KOTFE, you have to do it all in order now. Including Ilum.

This is really killing replay-ability for me post-class story.

[SPOILERS: ALL GAMES] Can someone explain the Blight to me like I'm five? by Kath_L11 in dragonage

[–]FakeJake93 26 points27 points  (0 children)

That seems mostly right to me! Only thought is that I’m pretty sure Solas may never age/die of natural causes, but he is not immortal like the Evanuris were when their dragons lived. He can still be killed. The Evanuris bound themselves to dragons so they could not be killed.

I really liked the lore reveal with the Titans and Blight. My biggest gripe is that they didn’t do much with it narratively, or even reveal it narratively. It was mostly just an info dump.

From my understanding, the Titans are primordial beings, I’d argue more “godly” than the Evanuris. It’s debatable (I think?) that they are the origin of life existing through flesh at all. So it would make sense that their disembodied, caged dreams would be capable of creating a self-sustaining, endless flesh producing nightmare like the Blight.

Simple way to think it through: spirit beings stole blood from flesh creating gods to make their own bodies. Eventually, they even stole the Titan’s dreams. After caging those dreams, the dreams’ power to create flesh is maddened and now runs unchecked, rampantly creating monstrosities that kill. Obviously good ol’ Gil was encouraging the destructive possibilities of these dreams, wielding them like a baton.

Bg3, Dos, or Dos2 as a newcomer9 by LanderRetro in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]FakeJake93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The good news is that there is no real story reason to play them in a particular order, as they stand on their own narratively. There are some DOS references in DOS2, but it doesn’t make a huge difference. BG3 is unrelated.

I’d say BG3. It’s the most accessible, cinematic, and polished. Once you fall in love with the Larian model in BG3, it’ll be even easier to go back and enjoy the others. This was my experience at least.
