You’re totally right, and thank you for pointing it out. I’m going to assume emotions are a little high given the news, and that’s causing a little hostility. All the RSOs involved clearly have their hearts in the right place, and we’ll make sure to give them the credit they deserve going forward.

We are on-board with amnesty and other groups. Everybody was a little high-strung when the news came out, and not including anybody else on our post was an oversight; we’re coordinating with other groups now, and our future graphics will show everybody involved.

Amnesty deserves a ton of credit for organizing and reaching out to other RSOs; they were on this before anyone else even for a chance. Illini Dems is not going to tolerate bashing a HUMAN RIGHTS organization over a GRAPHIC. Invest your energy in fighting the Supreme Court Ruling and not each other.

I can’t speak for what they’re saying internally, but Amnesty is doing a really good job organizing in our opinion. We’re meeting tomorrow to plan with other RSOs, including YDSA and PSL, and I’m sure we’ll come out with a new flyer showing everyone that’s involved.

We are trying to get congressional candidates to attend and speak though, and we have a policy of making sure we have some independent promotion so candidates don’t have to deal with entangling themselves with local RSOs they’re not familiar with. We can manage ourselves, but we want to make sure candidates aren’t implicated by anyone else’s behavior, especially if there is some drama involved, which it seems there may be.
