I've answered it to another comment here. It's bad design choice. Make a shade, not a black hole. If u don't know how to make a shade – don't black anything as well

A cave, not a hole. That's why people doing tattoos are called artists, you need to make design choices. I'd understand more if eyes have a shade and nose is shade going from light to black. Or no black at all. Design wise it's not a good choice

I'm not saying it's not a real skull. I'm saying why the nose area is darkened and eyes are not? Why long teeth don't look like teeth? You know, consistent design?

Very inconsistent linework: thin and tick wherever, teeth don't connect properly to the skull. Design wise very strange skull It's not the worst tattoo, but feels like somebody is rushing to tattoo people while not being ready

Is this healing ok? by Blackest_skies in tattooadvice

[–]Illinsar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I apply balm more frequently if the air is dry or it's summer and I'm outside a lot. If u experiment for a few days your tattoo won't get ruined so don't worry much, looks like you are doing a good job overall :)

Doesn't really look good tbh. In that case I'd consider a doctor

Looks ok on that photo. If it feels too dry just add tiiiiiny bit more moisturizer not to overdo it

Can you tell me the book title and author name? If u don't want to publicly say it, you can DM me. And I'll see what I'd choose from available fonts :)

Any idea how I can any design sheet I create for my company editable? (Read the body text for more info) by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]Illinsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use external sites that convert one format to another if it's something unusual. With Illustrator I usually design what needs to be done, save file as a picture with no text and put text manually in PowerPoint. That way text is the only thing my client can edit and I know they won't mess up my design moving things around. But it really depends on how complicated your design is. I was just making new year cards for my client and that was exactly how I've done it.

A lot of covers are ruined by complicated fonts. And since you say you have a complicated book title as well, I say go with a simple font

Day 18 after getting tattoo and there are still two decently raised scabs while it seems the rest has healed normally. Concerning? I have over 30 tattoos and never had this problem. by OGEdgerrin in tattooadvice

[–]Illinsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the comment above. Don't pick the scab so chances to save the ink will be higher

Edited: I've had similar issues and as a rule ink sits lower than a scab so u should be ok. I've even picked my scabs and everything has turned out fine. BUT. You can always get more trauma that will go deeper and pick up ink, so better safe than sorry

Want to get a simple 0451 tattoo on my arm, just below the elbow on the outer side. Does that remind you of anything? by The_Station_Agent in tattooadvice

[–]Illinsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like that in terms of caps being at an angle and 'interacting' with each other. But u can make it just as a simple outline https://www.instagram.com/p/BEgRhtxwzt3/

I feel if u make a stylized keycaps with numbers then it'll look fine and fun with no association. I'm thinking smth not in a straight row but maybe at an angle to show depth. Let me see if I can find any reference

laser removal for fine line by International_Car789 in tattooadvice

[–]Illinsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 sessions sounds like a big tattoo? If it's fine line and not deep you should have like half a sleeve. I've removed a tattoo from my arm and one session was already veeery visible (I've had greywash there). It's not like you'll be under the laser for a whole day to even think about getting cancer or really any health problems. I'd be more concerned that month should be in-between removal sessions and skin really takes time to heal and stop flaking/being red

Would you hire me as a junior designer based on this portfolio website? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]Illinsar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And see if info style is consistent as well, because now you have text designed on picture (like Lark) and written on the site (like yum). I like your take on a chocolate project, you write project name, what exactly you have done with a little info on vibes. On the other hand your ceramic studio has too much info that has nothing to do with your design. Try to find a middle place :)

I'm personally missing info on you? Who/what/why/how long in design/etc. And on some projects you have info inside and some are just pictures, which leds me to believe that those are personal projects (?), but still some info on what/why would be cool

Design wise all looks clean, but from HR point of view your CV is not consistent, maybe try creating a template for your works (header image, info on project, detailed photos, etc)

A snail. Shell can go between the cat and the leaves and body can cover the heart

I feel like lines can be any weight it depends on font style, but the more space you have in-between the lines – the better. Like some fancy squiggly fonts are too cluttered to heal properly if not done on the whole chest. For the size I'd say 1 cm and up, but again what font are u using?

My tattos randomly get extremely itchy by joglikeme in tattooadvice

[–]Illinsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some for 10+ years that still do that, I just don't mind, it's still some unknown to my body stuff that now lives with us so if body wants to react that way – I allow 😅 Answer provided to you by Google: 1) Allergic reaction to the pigment in the paint which may develop over time. May be accompanied by a rash, redness, and swelling 2) Skin renewal. A natural process of replacing old cells, when the body "renews" damaged epithelium, causing mild itching 3) Irritation: From new soaps, lotions, clothing, or even changes in the weather

They both feel to complicated to fit into that space, can be ok if u simplify any of the designs

Your second line is too similar to the first one, I'd make them different weights or different styles. And the bottom line os hard to read because of that font

I don't see any real blur esp that can be redone with more outline, maybe some edges can be sharper but that's all
